I was wondering what the best ski resort with good cliffs and lots of snow and a really good park around Reno was. And how far is it. Thanks

Alpine and squaw are the best and close to reno. Mt. rose and northstar are pretty good as well except northstar has no good skiing other than the park. All the resorst listed are 35-50 mins away from reno.

^ that and it is setup with boarders in mind so its hard to get up on the boxes and rails, you have to pop hard.....id rather be at alpine...mabey not as many features...but not as many gapers and a sick park crew

^ more of a challange , makes it fun to do a straight rail when you have to pop like mad to get on it.

^only problem is that you ahve to get past the 20 borders all heading for the same rail...haha

but some of their rails and boxes are sick if you can actually get to them

just wait your turn and don't stop in between every feature. the Nort* park is set up with a sick flow. you can hit everything in a row without too much speed checking. but if there is a pile up you have to stop and wait your turn. its pretty simple.

and nothing there is hard to get onto. at least i dont think so. the small flater lips make everything smoother. i like it. but im the only one, i guess

their jib lips suck for trying to spin onto. sure you can ollie, but ollie to 270 on will take lots of falls. would be sick as fuck though

well last year was my first winter really learning rails and boxes so i got alot better at alpine...and i could get almost anything they put up, but when i went to northstart..i went down tuff on everything, so i guess its just what you like.

maybe im just used to it. i have no problem spinning onto boxes at ns

but i have a problem at alpine because their lips are so poppy. i was rollin up and was gonna do a 270 on a little flat box and ended up doin like a 500 onto it. i seriously thought i was gonna die. luckily it was so lippy that i hit the last 1 foot of the box and skied away like fakie like i had just done a 540 of a small jump.

plus with lippy jibs its hard to do a long rail because first of all you end up clearing half the rail then you come slamming down on the box or rail and it screws you up.

^500 on to a box, you must be good....

everyone in the tahoe area is just really territorial about their mountains in general....

oh yea and andy... yea we did have a little bit of trouble that day :) haha.... it was just hard to get used to... we were over it!

All of the above resorts are good. I recomend the reno whitewater park as it is entertaining when there is snow melt instead of snow to ski on.
