Reno vs SLC

Im sorry, did we make fun of your shitty ass town? Saying reno is better than slc is like saying a fat place of steaming hot feces is better than a slab of steak with a fresh lobster tail. What im trying to say is that you are an idiot.

Definitely pretty true. Lived in Tahoe for HS (So very familiar with Reno) and SLC last year, and SLC as a city is way sicker then Reno in my mind.
As for Tahoe vs Utah... thats a different story for me. Ill take the shredding in Tahoe over Utah any day. As for resorts I think the ski areas in Tahoe are better then Utah (quantity is part of this) and the backcountry is superior to Utah as well. This is just my opinion but its from a lot of personal experience. PC does have a sicker park though then anything in Tahoe, Ill give Utah that.

People can argue the snow is better in Utah all they want, but at least in Tahoe it actually heals instead of having slides that are breaking several layers down in the snowpack in mid march. And to anyone that talks about "sierra cement," I feel like those people have never actually been in Tahoe during a storm. Or they rode Northstar for pow for some reason.

Valley, I dont wanna rip on ya friend, but from tons of personal experiences (remember backcountry is pretty much all I do) in both places, Tahoe is hands down better for backcountry then Utah. So many reasons why and one of them is accessibility. Just ask Karl and Jeremy from their week they spent out here with me in April.

hate to be that guy but utah snow is the best out. which is what i meant by that. id rather have a full run of faceshots then straightlining some gnarly chute because the snowpack is right but to each their own i suppose.

haha damn for somereason everyone one hates reno! haha has everone been watching reno911 too much latly?

Okay, so it seems everybody is leaning towards Utah, and I found out SLC is only six hours or so from Tahoe, so if I ever wanted to ski there I could just go for the weekend, but I doubt I would with PC and Snowbird being 20 minutes out of town. What about Bozeman though? I have heard really good things about that place.

lol when they were in tahoe all they did was hit huge booters to fluffy powder landings and billowing pillow lines, no gnarly chutes, i think thats what he was talking about with karl and jeremy

Bozeman has AMAZING pow and big mountain skiing. There are girls, but im pretty sure the ratio of guy to girls is like 2:1 or 3:1 (according to the school). The bars are really fun, sometimes there are dope parties, good biking and hiking. Thats about it. Pretty small, but bozeman is sick, id live there but i like living in more of a city vs a town.

how do you compare a town to a state?

snow is about 70 percent of how badass a ski resort is. tahoe might be sick for your storm days, but when it clears and the snow turns to shit you are fucked. resorts (alta bird) hold incredible snow between storms. all north facing high elevation terrain aside from miserable basin.

have you skied utah's prize lines? 3-5000 vertical feet from THE ROAD. no approaches, just epic ski runs. then there aren't places like grizzly really anywhere. then you realize that the snowpack while not as safe as where the snow gets hot and ruined, is very safe for how soft it stays. utah holds alot safer snowpack then any of the interior mountains. while obviously there are exceptions utah has the greatest snow on earth, not on just on storm days but those days inbetween.

and well park, forgot what that is a long time ago....

fluffy and billowing? you should try skiing utah snow sometime.

if your content shreddin shitty snow then power to ya, i heard utah sucks anyways no one should move here everyones just so scene and no one can ski pow cause there isnt any. pretty much everything negative about utah said in this thread is spot on, place blows.

haha dude i live in slc, i love the snow here more than anything, ive just seen a couple of shots they got while they were down there and thats what it looked like
