removing vocals from mp3s

If you have any audio editng program, there are presets that do a pretty good job. Adobe Audition(previously Cool Edit Pro) works pretty well.

if you're using osx/os9 try amadeus 2 , there's a free version on versiontracker.com. then download some plugins. get some kind of parametric EQ plugin and you can basically blend and/or cut out the vox frequencies. for plug-ins just search for VST effects and they have lots of free effects/EQs/compressors/gates plugins

i looked around and found out that there is no way that you can remove the vocals all the way from a mp3. you would need the multi-track to get the vocals out...and none of us can get our hands on those....you can bring down their levels though so they arnt as loud....I found a cool plugin for winamp that does it.

There was a plugin for winamp that did a kickass job, I dont know what it was, Ill look for it

like I said in the post above retard...yeah there is a plugin for winamp....it works on most songs....if you listen close you can still hear the vocals.....analog X makes it i forgot the websitebut search google for analogX vocal remover and I am sure you will find it

you can't take out vocals, cause it would leave a hole in the frequency response and it would sound shitty. any 'plugin' for editing like that will just drop certain frequencies that voices are typically in, which will also take out any other instrument that's in that range. if it fills in that hole, it will fill it with something called dither, which is light noise used to match the frequencies in the missing range and increase bit rate when trying to improve quality. leaving you with bad quality. best bet is to take the song, get some kind of program (protools) where you can automate the gain on certain frequencies, then you can go through and do it manually.

i have to edit some songs for my radioshow and instead of removing words i just reverse them. if that's the case.

i have calkwake music creator/editor. get that then get the vocal remover that comes with it. make sure you computer settings are set on stereo or it wont work. its real easy and clean to do it with old stuff like the beatles. they spit the music up alt in old stuff because stereo was a new thing
