Removing stickers/residue from helmet?

It's been 5 years of riding with the same sticker layout on my helmet and I want to change it up. I feel like putting on some more car related decals; GReddy, Tomei, Full Race, Work Wheels, etc.

So obviously I just peel them off carefully, but what do I use to clean off the left over residue? Or stuck on paper if it tears?

Thanks guys, that was fast! I'll try it out. Photos to come when it's done. Just waiting on my vinyls....

Just scrub it for a while, don't use cleaners. Some cleaners can damage helmets (the damage probably won't be visible but will reduce the protective capability of the helmet).

WD-40 works great. Or use a hairdryer to soften them up before you peel.

If you use a hairdryer be really careful not to heat the helmet enough to make the shell loosen from the rest of the helmet, not gonna lie I actually did that mistake once when removing a gopro mount and I ended up having to buy a new helmet, I felt pretty damn stupid.

Damn I guess I'm lucky that didn't happen. I roasted the stickers off my helmet.
