Reminisce: Battlebots

YEAH and they had to do like obstacle course and then battle on that raised platform against the "boss" robots haha it was awesome
 
dude, me and my dad watch thisit was so fuckin intenseand they had a game on miniclips of this that was so intense, i built mine up so good
 
You're combining 2 shows there. The obstacle course was after both of those. The house bots was on TNT or something like that if I remember right. Battlesbots was on at 9am on comedy central. Then there was junkyard wars...
 
It was actually on TLC originally. Owned by the same company but whatever. I remember thinking how gay a channel could be yet have such an awesome show.
 
That was ill, it seems like a specific type of robot, those close to the ground and with horizontal spinning weapons always won which is why I never watched the show regularly. It's still the best reality show made.
 
haha oh man i remember that
i used to draw them all the time, and watched it evertime it was on
and i remember the first time i saw it was Grant Imahara's robot
it was my favourite through the whole thing too, for its simplicity and bad-assedniss haha
 
Yeah, that show was awesome. Wasn't there called Robot Wars or something and people used crazy stuff like flamethrowers. I'm pretty sure that was the one with the referee bot that had a fire extinguisher attached to it.

I remember one where Toro flipped somebody and then lit its rope tail on fire. Why don't people still do this, technology is better now, the weapons would be insane. Somebody make a ski themed robot that spins a ski with really sharp edges, or uses a sharpened pole as a spear or something.
