Remember when you used to think NS was legit?

Also, I'm still uncertain if OG NS members left because NS has gotten shittier, or if its because we've just gotten older.

Gone are the days of photoshopping sloths on skis and posting Japanese fetish pornography. What remains is passive-aggressive sarcasm and a complete lack of interest in the ski world from this old curmudgeon.

probably age. eventually you just get older and lose interest. Or life gets in the way. I can already start to feel myself losing interesting in certain aspects. Definitely spending more time watching videos and looking at pics.

Reppin' the class of 05. I'd be curious to see how many active members are left over from each year since ns started. Seems like 04 was a big year, but i hardly see anyone from 05.
 
I honestly don't give two shits about what's going on in the ski world right now. Last time I watched a comp was TJ Schiller's breakout run at US Open N years ago. I only go on this site to look at 4chan content because last time I went on 4chan I saw kiddie porn and now I'm scared to go back.
 
`03 here. Never been a big poster, but I read the forums. I still check in most days from work, but I spend alot less time reading the forums. With more members, I guess there's always going to be more haters and bitches. I find there are far fewer of the multi page hilarious/interesting/memorable threads these days too.

That said, NS is still the best resource on the internet for our sport. The videos, articles, blogs and event coverage are superb, and the overall majority of members are good people. Always good to meet other NSers on the hill, wherever that hill may be!

lol ya i had a 5 year plan to get to 10,000 posts and i thought black watch and ppp were like the coolest things ever but now its just full of mad weeners posting images with words on them that they didnt even think of themselves
 
I think it is... after 5 months of crazy busy summer school and basically only using lm, I'm back to an hour/15 posts a day. I'll never leave forever.

NS was never too positive, really. It was even more dickish, I'd say, just without memes and a quote function, leading to a shitload of misunderstandings.

There was no golden era in NS history, the older members are just growing up and getting older and the forums are loosing interest in them. Still trying to hold on to something they once cherished so much they think back and remember it when it was fun. It was fun because you were 14/15, not because it was any better.

Alex_G, NS has more to offer now than ever before. Sure, you may have to sift through some senseless posts as you make your way, but there's no reason to the call NS members' legitimacy into question. I've been a member for a long time, and like many of those members before and after me, I'm excited with the progression of the site and that of our fellow members.
