i was born in 85 and i remember most of that stuff. when i read that post it made me think of this picture i have of my neighborhood. it's early 90's though.

i have to agree with mommy, there are way too many people posting in this thread that were born in 88 or 87 sayinng how they remember the 80s, if your memories are you lying on your ass in a crib then thats ok, but unless you can remember when can't touch this was released you really shouldnt say shit about the 80s, and no 5 year olds do not remember things like that

Those slip-n-slides were deadly. I remember growing up, we lived out in the wasteland of southern California and we had one of those. So did my friends. We didn't have a nicely groomed grass lawn like some people, isntead we put that on top of dirt, weeds, and rocks. You'd go down it, smack rocks, and get cut up by weeds.. good times.

And oh, I guess I most qualify under the 'You've gone through this list occasionally saying 'That wasn't from the 80's.'' because the fresh prince of bel-air came out in 1990.

haha, i have a ten gallon tub of my little ponies in my attic. they were my favorite. when i was really little i fell off my bed onto a my little pony castle and cut open the side of my eye and had to get stitches

 
I got totally fucking screwed over for the late 80's-mid 90's. my parents were STILL riding the fucking hippie bandwagon. NO CABLE. I had to go to my cousins every weekend to get my dossage of fragglerock (dance your cares away! what???) NO MCDONALD'S. I would BEG my friends for their happy meal toys. NO SKIP IT, dad says 'use a jump rope!' which was probably hemp with corn husks as handles. NO JELLY SHOES. NO BIG TEE SHIRTS, NO HEAD BANDS OR SCRUNCHIES. one thing I did have were polly pockets. that shit was off the hook. I had like 10. And I was more of a boxcar children kid than a babysitters club kid. I could go on but instead I am going to listen to my early 90's cd collection: free willy soundtrack, ace of base 'the sign', and appetite for desturction.

well my town is in the middle of nowhere in vt so the oregon trail phase didnt come till like 92 or 93 and it lasted till i graduated from middle school which was only 2 years ago
