Well.. I am against every major religion in the world, but I fully support religiousness. Mass thought on a large or small scale is wrong. HAVING to think, act, or do certain things because your religion tells you to? fuck that. I'll make up my own meaning in life, find my own purpose, and act however I want. This is the great experiment that is my life, and you try to tell me otherwise, you can fuck yourself.

Yeah I believe in 1000 years people will be studying today's religions as we study the religions of ancient greek, roman, and egyptian culture.
The worst attempt at conversion that I have ever recieved was when my friend told me I should believe in jesus or else I will go to hell. Are you kidding me? Obvious since I don't believe in jesus I don't beleive in hell. So that was one of the most empty threats he could have possible made. He's a silly boy folks.

the thing is, man does know how he ought to live. That is what a conscience is. everyone knows when they are doing something 'right' or 'wrong'. For an extreme example, if you shoot a gun at someone you are doing something generally accepted as wrong, depending on the circumstances. If you kill that person with your gun, that 'wrong' action stimulates guilt. Why should you have guilt? Where did these feels of guilt, discernment, right and wrong, all come from? Why do humans, and humans only, have these feelings? Why should we even care about someone else's fate, if all that matters is, as many of you put it, the way you live your life, and your life only? Who cares what happens to any one else on Earth, or after life on Earth, if there is such a thing. It would seem that that approach is the most selfish, and hateful way to live your life ever. BUt I guess, atheists dont care about being hateful, or selfish, because its their life, and they can live it how they want.

^ sorry your incorrect about when you point a gun at someone you are doing something wrong. That is a standard that society created if you were born in the middle of the woods and didn't meet another human or enter society untill you were 18. You picked up a gun and pointed it at someone you wouldnt even know what the gun was therefore you wouldnt realize it had negative connotation so you wouldnt feel 'guilty' or 'bad'. Everyone thinks killing another human or raping another human is 'Wrong' but those are standards we created throughout societies expectations. Animals kill and rape as a means of survival and to them its considered 'right' So no I do not believe there is a universal 'right and wrong' that was been burned into us. In sociology class we are learning about all the different cultures in the world some who consider killing their second daughter born into the family 'the right thing to do' You would feel bad doing such a thing because your society has flagged that as a no-no but to them its perfectly natural. Just remember you and all your thoughts are a product of your enviroment and your experiences.

it's all conditioning that determines right and wrong. The notion of right and wrong is an invention of government to control their societies. We do not know how to live, and there is no available information on how to do so. It is an impossibility. im a huge fan of greek mythology, they created gods to determine different lifestyles. Man created himself from a combination of those gods. It was a smart system. If you are acting as a God does, it can't be that bad, or wrong. It creates a feeling of satisfaction and contentment.

IT TAKES THE SAME AMOUNT OF IGNORANCE TO KNOW THERE IS A GOD, AS IT DOES TO DISMISS HIS EXISTENCE.
All i know, is that i dont know. I consider myself a spiritual person tho. Its time for me to find my own path, and i think doing good things along the way wont hurt. Its my opinion that it takes more spirituality to follow your own path, than to follow a structured and strict path.

So what you are saying is that without government, humanity has no conscience? What about some african tribal dude in the middle of nowhere? His only human contact is his small tribe, or even family. We do you think he tries to stand up for, or protect his family, or tribe? Because it is the right thing to do, and hurting them or killing them would be the wrong thing to do. Or even if thats uncivilized bushman was lazy. He didnt work on his land, or build a shelter. He would consider that the WRONG thing to do, and would feel guilty about being lazy and procrastingating. Dude, its human nature, we havnt been programmed by governments, we've been programmed by God. And ICE_IS_SCARy, animals dont consider killing or raping other animals to be right, or wrong. Its just something they do to survive. Its only humans who can subjectivly have an opinion which can proclaim whether killing someone or something si right or wrong. Its why there are peace keepers, and war starters. Environmentalists, and Environment thrashers. Animal Lovers, and Animal Hunters. Sure, the idea of what is'right' and what is 'wrong' differs, between both groups of people, but the fact remains that both groups of people still have a conscience, and can decide between what they feel to be right, and what they feel to be wrong.

^ok you illustrated another problem I have with certain religous people. Humans vs. Animals according to christianity god put animals on this earth for HUMANS! does that sound like something a creator of a world would say or does that sound like something a human would say? My teacher in highschool was a devout christian and he taught me that animals dont have souls therefore dont goto heaven. I'm sorry thats just so close minded I dont consider myself to be Superior to any creature and if you do thats your problem. Also your saying that god programmed us correct? So when religious suicide bombers blow people up its because god truly wants them to? They obviosuly 'know' it is right or they wouldnt be doing it would they? Answer me that question and I'll upgrade my opinion of you from 12 year old to 16 year old.

I was in to religion before 9-11 but after that i sat back a thought how all this crap started(other than Clinton not getting Osama when he had a chance) but the reason all this started is religon Muslim wanting to kill Jews and Christain, So basically I'm sick of religion I dont want to pick up a Bible (I'll burn it before I look at one again!) It makes me (SIC) to think people are going to kill people over Religion.

Humans think they have evolved so far. But In pyschology class last year we learned about a child who was discarded by her parents when she was a baby and somehow survived in the woods and was found I belive around age 14. This 'wild child' underwent many experiemnts from pyschologist trying to teach her how to live in society and be a 'human' but after years of treatments and painstaking therapy she resembled a monkey more than she did a human she still couldnt talk only make grunts and noises. Couldnt read and did not know what appropriate behavior was. So I believe we are all still animals but society makes us 'this evolved creature' I think this example displays that fairly well.

I agree for sure. Our culture is trying to super-learn our kids, more info in less years. They offer the security of our families while we super-learn, but those of us without that, well, we're left for the dogs man. They are classified as the 'Problems' of society. uneducated people....they could be so much more than that. Our society keeps them under. I hate it. HATE. So yes, we are not evolved enough for this.
