How great the rest of the movie is does not make up for how awful that ending is. It's impossible to figure out the ending without looking it up. The director pretty much admitted it in his explanation of the ending. Do you know the real explanation of how it ended? Because it's really fucking stupid
 
Tell her how you feel. Preferably in person. Tell her you appreciate honesty . This line has worked wonders for me because when someone hears that even though their actions may not support it, everyone will say that they agree with the line. Hopefully then she'll open up. If she opens up and turns out she's not that into you, oh well. Atleast now you know and you don't have to look like that dud that won't give up. If she is into you, congrats. Take that bitch down to tuna town.

donnie darko is probably one of my favortie movies ever and if you didnt like it/ understand it youre a total dickweed.
 
i got it, there was two different realitys and the airplane engine was the key/portal between the two and since at the end he went back to the first day he was back in the normal reality where the engine comes and kills him intsead of him getting up before the engine crashes into his house.

My issue with it is to understand the ending fully explained you have to do some research past watching the film. If the film can't be self-contained then that is objectively bad writing.

I absolutely love the rest of this movie but the ending is just bad. With just a little bit of tweaking it could've been all around amazing

 
I don't recommend telling her how you feel. I did with the one girl (I wasn't crazy for her or anything, just said I like her a lot) and she went from texting me daily to 4 days of no talking.
 
hmmm interasdasting. ill admit the ending doesnt wrap it all up, it definently makes you think about it which may have been the point of the confusing ending but still a very good movie.
 
I had a similar incident like this you know what I did? I stood her up, called her out, and she cam crawling back...best feeling ever knowing someone who didn't care about you now "cares" and you don't even take a 2nd glance! :)
 
If you text her first every day she never has to text you first. Stop texting her for a few days and see if she texts you.
 
I have found what works best is make her jealous. Like drop little subtle things, nothing serious, but enough to make her worried. Start talking to other more attractive girls. Because there's one thing you have to remember, no matter how much they won't admit it, girls like assholes. Now I'm not saying like straight up be a dick, but make fun of her, make plans the back out, that kind of stuff. The key here is to make her jealous.
