Regular IPod or Mini IPod?

which do you think would be a better buy? The mini is much smaller and has a 4gb memory, which holds about 1000 songs, and costs $250. For $50 more, I can get a regular one that has 15gb memory, and holds about 10000 songs. What would you do?

 
correction, the new ipod jsut came out so for $50 more you get a 20gb and it holds 5,000 songs. go for the 20 gb waaaay better deal

Whoa, I just noticed that they dropped the 15gb and lowered the price on the 20gb. Sweet, now I can get a 40gb for what I expected to pay for a 20!

The regular is a much better deal, for $50 more you get 5 times the memory than the mini.

according to the mac store which i visited yesterday with (twintipskier1260), for $300, you get the 15gb, and for like 350=20... but i like the 15gb because of the rounded edges and i like the white much better than the other 5 colors. i would never have 3000 songs, or probably 1000, but i like the style of the 15gb, regular size ones

 
I love my iPod. It's sick. Its a 3rd Gen. with the 4 button interface. I still think its pretty sweet, I am not a fan of the Click Wheel, so it suits me better. The only change (between Gen. 3 and 4) on it is the Click Wheel.

no, and the OS for the 4g is a newer one (3.0 - but people with 3g ipods are still stuck with 2.2 cause apple doesn't have a new update for those ones yet)

yeah i'm just debating whether or not i'll be able to fill the 4 or not. Thanks for your opinions

 
it doesnt matter if u can fill it up with music or not its also a removable drive

this girl i kno has the creative zen and she says she wishes she had gotten the ipod instead. the LCD screen is veryy small and the size compared to an ipod is bigger and not as.. convient(sp)

Go with the I pod regualar, you can get a new one off ebay for 180, the 15 g. I have a 40 g, which holds 10,000 songs, and I dont think I would ever get a mini. 4000 songs arnt that much, plus you can use them as data storage, so you could bring around videos of your skiing in your ipod and brag whenever your near a computer!

Yeah, I have a Zen Xtra and it works perfectly for me - the size difference means nothing to me, especially considering the cost for an iPod of the same capacity. I think the original Zen had a pretty small screen.

When it comes down to it, they all do the same thing pretty much - figure out how much storage you think you'll ever need go for whatever you can get the best deal on. Bear in mind you'll probably underestimate how big a hard drive you need though. I thought 5Gb would be way more than I'd ever need but now I've got 13Gb of mp3s and a few Gb of photos on mine.

 
iv got the 3rd generation and its very nice. definitely dont get a mini

how can you store video on it? I just got mine and I can only store nots and caladre dates and contacts.

 
Yeah, it's a hard drive, so you can put anything on it. I have a beta of the next Apple OS (10.4) and I actually installed it on my ipod so I didn't have to overwrite what I already have. You can boot from it just like any other hard drive.

My 3rd Gen. just broke, disk corruption. I will be taking it back to the Apple Store, hopefully receiving a new 4th Gen. The only part I dont like about the 4th gen is that you have to click in the middle select button, I liked the Tap a little better. But its a small price to pay for a 12 hour battery life.

how do u hit the buttons on the scroll, and how do u change rhe volume without changing songs accis=dentally and stuff?

because there is a difference between scrolling and clicking, to change songs you must actually click down the button and scrolling just rub your finger down around the wheel
