That whole article is such a load of shit.
Well, if the whole regenitive stuff could actually work that would be amazing. But his finger didn't grow back with the help of some special white powder. Maybe it helped it grow back a lot quicker, but that's not what saved his finger and made it grow back.
I actually got the tip of my middle finger cut off right down to the bone (exactly as he did). And those pictures? They looked exactly how mine did every step of the way. And you know what else? They threw away my finger tip that got cut off when I got to the doctor, so I didn't get it reattached either!
But I also didn't have any magic special powder!
Mine healed with just regular cleaning of the wound. I cleaned it probably a couple times a day for a solid 3 months. Soaking it in some weird chemical shit that you can just buy at CVS to kill bacteria too. All I wore was some gauze on my finger and it healed fine. I rode dirtbikes, four wheelers, swam in the ocean, everything with my finger looking like his (all white and shit).
And you know what? 3 months later, my finger was healed. I had my finger nail back perfectly fine, I had a finger print, and it looks just like all my other fingers. The only thing that took a while was the feeling, or maybe I just wasn't use to not being covered up by gauze, who knows.
Sure it took longer, but it healed exactly the same. This powder sped it up, but it was most definitely NOT the sole reason why his finger grew back.
And pics or it didn't happen? Sorry, I don't have any, but why the fuck would I lie about my finger being torn off? I was in Nova Scotia just chillin with my grandparents for those 3 months.

Woah! How'd you lose your finger? And maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. I'm no expert, I just ran across it and it's from a credible news source, so who knows!

Salamanders can regrow lost limbs. Its totally possible that if we isolate the genes and proper signals that induce such an effect that we could eventually develop treatments to grow arms and legs.
