This seems like a cool idea in my head. Tossing it out to see what others think.

I think it'd be cool if there was a memberlist that indicated a members regional area based off their location. Might help in making the site a little more personal and you could find other skiers who ski in the same area easier.
 
Hopefully Cults are going to get cleaned up and the ones that will remain will be the legitimate ones like ones related directly to specific mountains.
 
Yes, but there are always those poeple that don't check cults and only hang out in one part of NS or pictures or whatever. I think that this would be a really nice feature, that I would find myself using multipliable times.
 
are you thinking like reformatting the online members list on the left, to have a bolded location, and the online members in that area displayed below, or refering to a whole new segment of ns? just wondering
 
thatd be pretty cool and would make it a lot easier to carpool to mtns and just get to know other skiiers in the area
 
i think that is a sick idea....like have your area code or city/state under your name or somehting..
 
i definitely support the idea, but how would it be setup? i was thinking something like a dating site (not that ive used one or anythign) or facebook how it matches stuff in profiles such as home mountains or w/e

the only problem would be how would you do reigons? the only way i could think of is like on the reigonal list, have places they live, but be more specific and when creating the user profile for larger states/provinces (i.e. instead of just new york, it would be like upstate, southern, central/western) , and the select something from a dropdown menu.
 
The way I'm thinking is when someone logs onto NS when the idea is first implemented, they would select a home region/zip code, and it'd be automatically entered into a database, and the member can update it through their profile if their demographics change.
 
Believe me, we're 100% behind you on this, and it has always been the plan to eventually really beef up our regional sorting like this.

However, to be done properly, this is a fairly major task and must be planned properly. There's no point to it unless everything links to your region - content, events, friends, resorts, etc...

I think it will be something we tackle more over next summer, as there's enough to add to the site for this year!

 
we went to the same highschool well i still go there but  u no 

i coulda known that sooner if we had this feature
