Regional forums idea

so i was thinking, and i thought this might be a good idea to get people to use regional forums a bit more, personaly, i hate the regional forums because they are a pain in the ass to get to and no one reads them, it would be nice if under the forums tab, you could just click on a button like ""your regional forum"", which reckognizes your ip and automatically sends you to the forum associated to where your ip is located, or you could choose it within your account settings

if it can be done with banners, im sure you could do it with the tab? no?
 
yep, or under the quick links so under the regional forums link that is there now would be a direct one to your specific region, but still have access in quick links to all regions
 
IMO, the regionals need a big overhaul but looking at what is planned this year, i doubt we'll see anything this season.

Does anyone else have any idea to add for regionals?
 
yeah thatd be so sick. we shouldnt even make it an option it should just always be on. like right next inbetween ski gabber and non-ski gabber.
 
I would love this - you could somehow "register" with a forum and that would be yours to have a shortcut to. I really hate how I have to click on all sorts of stuff to get in and out of them, and having it all right there would be so much easier...
 
I think this comes down to customisable quick links, that would make regionals much easier to find and therefore more popular
 
I would like to see regionals also be able to drill down to resorts and maybe the associated open cults?

This is probably way too over the top and complicated but if worked like google earth, maybe it would work quicker? I don't know.
 
open cults + regionals = lame IMO

We have forums for them, we dont need to confuse people by running them through open cults (which barely work as it is)
 
it should just be a part of customizable quick links which they're planning on doing soon, so you could have all the forums you want, cult forums you want, and a link to your regional
 
Guys this is a fantastic idea, and DEFINITELY somethng that we have wanted to do for a long time.

You'll notice that we're actually part of the way through it, as we've added the ability to assign yourself a region in your account. THe site can read your IP address and guess roughly where you are from.

The banners and the site are different though, the banner system has full IP recognition, but thats because they're from doubleclick.

THis IS however a lot of work, and we've got to get finished the current tasks. Paul is really hard at work getting the last two sections finished for the winter, and then we're going to go back and overhaul.

THe customizable quicklinks, and some regional integration would be absoltuely key.... and they're way on the top of our priority list!

Please keep the ideas flowijng though, we save all of them!

 
Or have like an app type of deal, in the My NS area have a button that says apps, slick on it and get like 9 threads you can drag and drop it in there and cults and so on, do you get what I'm saying?
