I am starting to really get in reggae and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for good bands. I really like the laidback stuff, but pretty much anything is cool.

Sizzla is more upbeat, as well as Peter tosh stuff. Check out Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Bob of course, Third World, Ziggy...etc...

dispatch?! thats a pretty pretty far from reggae brother... sizzla is real good, but you gotta be in the right mood for it, hes like a mix between club stuff, and just chill stuff... peter tosh and the toots are good, but if you want the high quality stuff... like the good secret stash, your going to want to look at dub... augustus pablo, lee perry are all you need...

Dispatch isnt that far from ragegaee.... the guitarist plays ragaee chords and rythem and they have some pretty funky drumming too. The singing is the only thing thats not roots raegaee but but they definitly have ragaee/ska influence

Some other cool bands I have found in the last few days: Dennis Brown, Gladiators, Warrior King and Wailing Souls. Thanks for all the suggestions. And where can I find some info or clips of this band Stranger?
