Regarding the "Wanna be a knight contest"

So It says on the website that the "Food and accomodation will be provided while at the event. But riders are responsible for getting themselves to the competition." Oh, ok. So I have to pay for a ticket to fly to fucking germany or whatever. Thats possible, only like 1500 dollars or more. I was gonna enter this contest but fuck it. That is wack.

I wanna go! But I'm more like a white ninja than a knight... I think for that experience I would pay $1,500 that I don't have because its all about the adventure :) Do it!

I mean for like the jib academy, the coreupt contest, all those ones paid for you to go to the places.

garret the white ninja says it best! why would you pass this up just because of a plane ticket? competing on that stage would be worth it!

ok eheath i understand, which is why in my first post i said i wasnt going to enter. It seems like they advertise on NS when lots of kids on this site dont just have the money to buy a plane ticket lying around.

lots of kids also don't have the bag of tricks to win this contest. the fact is, ur entering to win a spot in an epic competition, not an all expense paid vacation.

Ok i understand all of your guys' points. I was just angry at my own lack of funds. Good luck to all entrants.

Seems like they would, all the big sponsors, big cash prizes, huge fucking snow castle. One or two plane tickets doesn't seem like that much compared to all the money spent. But again, I am done arguing because I see the error of my argument.

well to compete in 9 knights would be such an experience. its gona give a kid some HUGE exposure and meet alot of people in the industry. easily a stepping stone to blowing up and making it big. so for a $1500 i think that would be worth it to a talented up and coming skier

It would be worth it, and if I had that money i would probably spend it on that. But what if some kid won and was just fucking out of this world but then didn't have the money to go. Kinda shitty cuz that person deserved it but wasn't born into mad bank. But I see what you are saying.

9 knights is a super high profile comp. If you got into that- Im pretty sure it would be easy to find someone to pick up the airfare tab... Whoevers skis your riding on in that comp for starters... Baby steps... Enter first, then deal with getting there when/if you win..... No biggy.

That's what sponsors are for. If you really think you have a shot at it, go talk to your sponsors and try to work out a deal to get you there if you win the contest. You gotta work for these opportunities.
