Refuses to do switchups

when im on a rail or box i always wanna do a switch up but i really dont know how.... i grind right foot forward so which way would i wanna switch up too o and i spin to the left..... but its like my body refuses to let me do it

its just commiting to it, what people have told me is to just look over your shoulder, just like you normally initiate a spin on a table,

for me, the easiest switchup is left foot forward frontside switchup, and i naturally slide right foot forward. maybe start with that one.

also, right foot blindside switchup is pretty easy on certain features.

spin really hard onto a box and butter it everytime and when u get comfortable start to jump b4 u come around then try it on the rails when u feel comfortable!

Quick question about my man Tanner Hall.

I love the guy but Im curious to see if anyone has seen this.

HAS ANYONE SEEN TANNER HALL DO A CHANGE-UP?

Its all in the hips, its all in the hips, and shoulders. Mainly shoulders though.

thats weird cause the exact same thing happens to me, im like locked onto the rail and i just cant do it

start by doing box dance butter switch ups to get the feeling then start trying to jump with it, start on a small flat box

i just learned front side today, and wut i did was edge pressure with the leading foot and then just really pop and spin.

you have to try to do it. wont magically happen for you.

drop your front foots heel as if you were going to 270 out. use that edge grabbin to help with your rotation. the rest is just doing the effot. dont think too much about it. pop, rotate shoulders and hips. thats it.

if you are aything like me (6'2 200 lbs.) try really getting low on the rail and bend your knees when you jump up to do the switch up. for a big person it is really hard to just stand there jump up and do a switcj up. I have to really bend my knees and jump really hard to get high enough to get around on the rail.

What helps for me is to learn a blindside 270 out first.then... try the samething but just earlier on the rail i usually did a short switch up before the end of the rail.eventually you will get itbut...yeah you gotta just try it .. don't worry about falling, everyone falls. Progression is inevitable without getting your ass kicked first....lol
