Refurbished laptop

has anyone had any luck buying refurbished laptops, not factory refurbished but from a shop called the laptop guy. im a little nervous, any good or bad advice would be apprecieated

if not I would be cautious. What are the stats on the laptop you want to buy. Also the screens on those things don't last forever.

powerbook g4 with mac os 10.4, install cds included. everything is supposed to work and includes a 90 day warranty

i bought one off ebay and got fucked over. it had a lot of stuff missing, things were cracked, screws missing, etc. it died after a month and the company hung up on phone calls.

buy from a trusted site like circuit city or something.

how much are you gonna save? unless its a decent amount its probably not worth the risk, you'd mayaswell buy a second hand one for way less

check www.resellerratings.com before you buy anything that looks to good to be true on the internet, especially any type of camera

just dont be cheap and buy a refurb from the factory

if tis not form the factory then i wouldnt. what they do on ebay ect, is say theres a warrenty but at the bottom in the fine print it says "battery not included in warrenty". then they give u a dead battery. that happened to me and a few other ppl.
