so i got redtape last thursday, it doesnt work on my dvd player so i need to send it back, but anyways, i can watch it on my computer and its amazing, the soundtrack is so sick as well as the skiing, its not super over the top but its sick none the less, the editing is amazing but thats a given from plehouse, its not really meant to be an 'in your face' movie its just so mellow and great, just thought i would give props to plehouse and tell everyone its sick, peace.....

umm so take a hint, your DVD player sucks ass and is old. get a new dvd player that plays more formats of DVD and it will work.

dont send it back its ur stupidity not theirs. if it works on your computers dont you think the dvd is fine? or are you that ignorant?

actually there was a copying error and they were going to change it but it was too much work so if you got a dvd that didnt work then you were to send it back for an exchange, thats comming straight from felix's email.... so i dont see how im stupid really.....

the error only occurs on dions part. your dvd player probably just sucks. I mean it plays on a ps2 for christ sakes.

RS4LIFE i understand their was a copy error but you said it played in your computer fine so obviously their is no error. it simple means your dvd plyer cannot play the format that it was burnt in. old dvd players and my 1st generation ps2 cannot play dvd -r. their are 10 generations of ps2 out to this day, each one with a new upgrade and tweak. newer generations i think 4th gen and up play all formats... dvd +r, dvd -r, dvd +-r.

i would try the disc on a friends to make sure before u ship back and have to wait

dions part doesnt work on any dvd player at all, and the dvd skips all the time on everyones dvd players, i tried it a few places, so the dvd is defective.....

If you have any probleme with y our dvd , just send it back to vas and you will get a new one , we are sorry for any inconvinient.

^^ok well thats differnt... in ur first post you said it wuldnt play on your dvd but it would on the comp so that would definatly be a dvd player issue. but if it just skis and doesnt play a section then yeah its the disc

one) their definately NOT burning on any -r,+r format...their replicated to the dvd standard

two) dont give the kid crap if his dvd player wont play it, thats not his fault, its vas' for putting out an error

just send it back to vas, they take returns on it and ship u a new one

hmm im thinking its +r, BING. their are only a few formats and their are multiple number because they come from differnt countries with differnt encoding. get with the program, i have a dvd burner and researched all about the shit. my PS2 doesnt play -r and thats shitty

im not going to argue, but replicated dvds are made to the dvd-consortium (sony/fuji/hitachi) standard format...-/+ are a home burning format..the dvds you get from vas are not the same dvds you burn at home on your -/+ formats

vas had a bitrate problem on dions segment, the bitrate dropped below the dvd standard at some miniscule second, and it causes older dvd players to skip at that point

well i jsut though PBP made the dvd's so i was guessing it was -/+ format. but i do recall then saying they were sending it to VAS now. whats VAS just a company that makes dvd fast for other companies?

and the 'numbers' you speak of are region-encoded numbers..each manufactured dvd is set to only play in a certian 'territory' (north america/korea/uk/japan)..this doesnt effect ski movies, because VAS produces region-free encoding

dvd-r wont play on a ps2/xbox unless you install a mod chip. chip it, and it works

^yeah i knew it was regions i just couldnt thinkof what it was called.

and yes PS2 does play all formats -r and +r on the new generations. their are 10 generations of PS2 and i think around the 5th they were capable of playing dvd formats of -r. mine is a first generation that only plays +r and it still doesnt play all those correctly so i had to go get a dvd player
