For the next 90 days I challenge you to grow some balls and piss off some soyboys.

1. Go on /r/skiing

2. post the illest LB3, NB3 clips you have

3. Post violent bails

4. tell people what to do

5. Tell people to get full tilts

account with most negative karma wins

Redditors aren’t soyboys, they’re bacon boys. Calling someone a soyboy while being in unhealthy shape from consuming excessive amounts of carcinogenic animal products and sugar is incredibly reddit behavior though.

One of the most striking things about r/skiing is how ahistorical it is. Other subreddits have some notion of lore and legend while that sub often treats freeskiing like it was invented in 2017 by andri ragetli. It’s honestly puzzling how incurious the sub seems about the vast history of skiing. Is there an actual good skiing sub somewhere on Reddit? And while on the topic, are there any good skiing tiktok pages? Not looking to watch Hackel repost realski clips set to viral tiktok dance songs

I'm at around 80 days away after 9 years of near daily browsing. It's not been too hard, though I do find myself texting people a lot more whenever I'm bored now

I once got into an argument on r/skiing about Attack toe height and monitoring it for movement. They told me I was wrong and said they were ski patrol at Loveland. I then explained in detail why they were wrong and that I, also, ski Loveland and that I can remember no patrollers with 1st gen attacks.

They admitted they were weekend volunteer patrol and didn’t know that much about ski gear. That, to me, is r/skiing in a nutshell.

you know every patrollers bindings? That's weird man.

I didn’t say I know every patrollers bindings but I do check out a lot of setups just out of interest. I pretty much look at every pair of skis around me. I don’t think I’m unusual for that on this website.

It was more along the lines of they were trying to make a point and I explained that the bindings, based on their math, must be a 1st gen and then I detailed how the lip had changed that attaches to the toe among the 1st and 2nd gen. It doesn’t really matter tbh. It’s a Sidenote to the conversation.

Checking out setups is a core piece of ski culture like it or not (i love it)

Yes, please go on Reddit and spend all of your time there. Do not waste your time coming back to NS, its very important you spend all effort and time on Reddit.

went to r/skiing to talk some shit and ended up getting in an argument with a TGR forum elitist about how jeffrey 102s aren’t a floppy noodle that can’t handle any advanced skiing

You got in an argument with me you idiot!

Logged back in to reddit for the first time in a while to check it out and it's basically just a worse version of gear talk. I swear the vast majority of the posts are just about gear and "should buy x or y?"

I don’t think you read either of those links lol

“the Global Burden of Disease Project has estimated that diets high in red meat could be responsible for 50 000 cancer deaths per year worldwide.

These numbers contrast with about 1 million cancer deaths per year globally due to tobacco smoking, 600 000 per year due to alcohol consumption, and more than 200 000 per year due to air pollution”

living in a city or drinking beer are both many times more dangerous than red meat lmao

would the trolling be more chaotic if we knew who eachother was or not? ?

let's go ?

In the case of red meat, the classification is based on limited evidence from epidemiological studies showing positive associations between eating red meat and developing colorectal cancer as well as strong mechanistic evidence.

Limited evidence means that a positive association has been observed between exposure to the agent and cancer but that other explanations for the observations (technically termed chance, bias, or confounding) could not be ruled out.”

The WHO “study” (results of a focus group looking at a bunch of papers together) is the scientific equivalent of “source: trust me bro”

I'm gonna take it as you've never done a journal club before.

It said they evaluated over 800 articles. That means they evaluated them on design, structure, statistical analysis, statistical and clinical/practical significance, bias, etc. and compared to current recommendations. This is exactly how clinical practice guidelines are developed. Definitely not a hunch lol
