If any of you are wondering a little more about it and are on here more than you are on facebook i figured i would post the info about qualifying. Straight from the facebook event page:

"Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Extravaganza:

We are looking for the top 30 skiers and top 30 snowboarders to take part in the freshest push in urban night riding. This industrial course is built like no other- expect big airs, buttery moves and a snow bar. You won't want ...to miss seeing this go down.

Qualifier #1 is this Saturday the 11th day of Feb. Registration will be in the Central Park Yurt from 8am to 10am. Helmets required, waivers required and parent signature required if under 18. Open to ski and board.

Qualifier #2 is Friday, Feb 17th. This will be last chance to qualify for this event. Helmets Required. Waivers required and parent signature required if under 18. Open to ski and board."

See you this weekend....or next

Are the qualifiers going to be on that illustrated setup or is that not going to be ready until the 18th?

qualifiers arent on the complete setup...not entirely sure where they are going to be but it should be fun either way

And I can't go next weekend. So even if I make it into finals, it does me no good. Not really worth $60 to ski in the rain on an incomplete setup for its own sake. Dammit.

Buying a lift ticket to partake in an unknown qualifier in the soup doesn't sound too appealing. Might just have to watch golf.

Last night Red Bull Third Shift still went down even with a foot of fresh snow before and during the event. The jump was not a possibility due to visibility and speed. So we let loose the competitors into the jib section and watched some of the best rail riding around.

Here's who won!

Ski

Joey Van der meer

Anders Fonelias

Jason Aarons

Snowboard

Stefan Krumm

Austin Hironaka

A third place tie between Kevin Fischer and Aaron Cardwell

Best Trick for an amazing Oakley watch

Keith Forsyth

Thanks to our sponsors: Red Bull, Oakley and all the help from the Summit at Snoqualmie Crew!

I am suppressed Joey found the course, I thought he had smoked all his brain cells away by now. He only had a handful left when I last saw him a few years ago.
