I hear all the time that mixing energy drinks and alcohol is bad for you, specifically I've heard that it fucks up your kidneys. But after googling it for a few minutes, I found nothing that mentioned any bad health effects. Some sites said that mixing energy drinks and alcohol will make you feel less drunk even though you are drunk causing bad decisions like thinking you are able to drive.

Anyone else hear that this mix is bad for you? Anyone find any valid source that confirms this?
 
Common knowledge. Energy drinks are stimulants, alcohol is a depressant.

It won't kill you, and it tastes damn good. So do it.
 
false it can kill you. my Spanish teachers son got mildly shit faced and then drank a monster and never woke up
 
liquor and energy drinks do cause problems, mostly because you hyper and drunk so you wanna do more things and act crazier. As far as being medically unsafe, probably,but I do way worse things to my body than jager and redbull so its kinda on the bottom of my self improvement list.
 
well considering that people have heart attacks from drinking that mix then yeah it's bad for you. plus:

energy drinks are bad for you. alcohol is bad for you. energy drinks mixed with alcohol must be bad for you. or do they cancel out??????? lol
 
Redbull and Vodka can cause certain people with preexisting heart conditions to DIE if they are morons and drink way too much of it. That is why redbull is illegal in a couple of places.
 
I drink red bull vodka pretty much everyweekend, my gf used to drink 5-6 in a night. Sweet 'n low kills some rats, red bull vodka may kill a few people. But it tastes real good.
 
red bull and vodka is a great way to party. it keeps you going, but then you wake up in the morning and can't remember shit
 
I usually just mix it with redbull for the first like 2 drinks then start mixing it with juice then maybe one or two more with redbull to help me finish out the night.

It depends on how much redbull you use too, I mean drinking 10 redbulls isn't good for you regardless of if it's mixed with booze or not.

on the serious side, its not the safest mixture out there. It's not rat poison, buts its not water either.
 
Its bad for you because its mixing uppers(caffeine, other energy drink ingredients) and a downer(alcohol).

I met this dude in cabo who told us a story which is perfect for this thread.He was drinking all day, red bull and vodkas of course, and at the end of the night the bar wouldnt let him leave until he drank alot of coffee. He said he woke up with his heart racing uncontrollably and he had to go to the hospital.

 
I don't get why people like Jager Bombs that much but I love vodka and RB. When doing Jager Bombs, how much RB and how much Jager do you need to put?
 
Here's how you do it.

1)12 shots of vodka, mixed equally with Monster.

2) Funnel it

3) Wait 15 minutes for it to kick in.

4)?????

5) Wake up the next morning and try to figure out why your buddies a)leg is bleeding, b) bike is missing and, c) has a marijuana possession ticket.

Its especially fun when everyone you are with does it, that way no one knows what happened.
 
dude anything can kill you he meant its not going to be that much worse then drinking without a energy drink
 
I black out when drinking alcohol mixed with energy drinks. so if you don't mind a little black spot in your night go for. but look out, your in for an adventure.
 
Redbull and Vodka is the tits dude, you'll feel real bad if you have like amp energy drink with burnetts or something though you know, its gotta be rebull, and a more premium vodka. I was an exchange student in germant over the summer and all i drank was WodkaEnergie, shits delicious and you'll get pretty drunk off a couple of those.
 
i think the only reason it could be any worse for you is because you cant really taste all the alcohol that you actually end up drinking causing you to jizz your pants and black out by 9
 
considering all the terrible things that I do to my body, I think the health concerns surrounding the consumption of redbull and vodka simultaneously is about as big a worry as Hannah Montana being cancelled.

I love red bull and vodka (red bull and red vodka is even better).

And I recently did a paper about it for school and I will post some stuff about what I found out:

First of all: Australian reachaers discovered that after

one sugarfree 250ml can of red bull the “stickiness" of the platelet increased,

which in term increases the risk of getting thrombus.

Because of health issues red bull is forbidden

in Uruguay and up to 2009, Norway and Denmark.

In Canada, the drink must have a warning on

the label:

"Caution: Contains caffeine. Not

recommended for children, pregnant or breast-feeding women, and caffeine

sensitive persons or to be mixed with alcohol. Do not consume more than 500ml

per day."

The effect of mixing alcohol and energy

drink:

The mixing of energy drink and alcohol can

give someone the feeling that they have drunk less then what they have actually

drunk. Causing people to drink more cause caffeine act as an upper on the nerve

system whilst the alcohol works as a downer. However, the caffeine does not

restrict the working of the alcohol and vice versa. The combination in high

doses is not recommended because it feels like you have consumed less alcohol. That

is why people will consume more alcohol because they feel like they have not

reached the desired effect. Both substances also drive of fluids and exhaust

the body with a vitamin-b shortage as result and a nastier hangover
 
yeah some peaple say that it's forbidden to mix energy drinks with alcohol in clubs, discos,pubs and so on "because that mixture is pretty bad for the health", but I've never felt bad after drinking that stuff. By the way, it's called "plane" in our country xD
 
don't do it. the worst night i've ever had, BY FAR, was when i drank 2 monsters, 2 sparks (energy/alcohol) and some beers i was waaaay too fucked up without even realizing i should have stopped. lets just say i ended up naked in a ditch in collegetown wearing just a blanket freezing my ass off at 4 in the morning after throwing up all over myself. not a good night. the girls i was with had to undress me and wash all my clothes and then dress me at a laundromat and i slept in their car.
 
you're wrong, simply because i am far from being a lightweight. i didn't claim the number of beers i had afrterwards because that's beside the point. the only point i was making was that the energy drinks caused me to feel invincible to alcohol and not realize how drunk i was getting. don't say that was the alcohol please because you weren't there. the weekend before that i felt sober after 11 drinks, which contributed to this invincibility complex.
 
I have absolutely no factual evidence to back this up, but i'm sayin its all good. i do it from time to time, and apart from getting pretty fucked up i really dont feel any side effects. although, people (maily girls) tell me im going to have a heart attack lol, so if you do it, be ready for people to tell you all kinds of stories and stuff.

the key is to stop drinking earlier than you naturally would, then you dont get super fucked without noticing it, and meet the shitstorm when the redbull wears off. and i dont care what you say, i drink vodka with red rain instead of redbull, 1L of red rain is a little more money than 1 can of redbull lol.
 
energy drinks are actually pretty good for a hangover because it speeds up your heart rate and pushes more blood through your body and gets filtered out faster..
but alcohol is a depressant and energy drinks are a stimulant, so it doesn't sound like it'd be good for you, but that's just what they taught us in health class.
 
By the way does anyone drink JOOSE?
Its pretty much the shit. Usually I drink one of those and a tall can and I'm good for the night. Wasted for $5, not bad.
 
pretty sure red bull and vodka is called a stoli bomb and it will have the same effects as when you drink redbull and vodka seperately
