Here goes

I live in Pittsburgh and have adopted the Pirates as one of my teams, but I'm a life long Yankees fan (used to live in NY). I was recently having a conversation with my dad about who my favorite athletes are and i told him in this order 1. Tiger Woods 2. Paul Pierce 3. Jason Bay. When the trade was announced i was really really bummed but excited for Bay to get a shot at becoming a premiere MLB player, he is that good.

But after the heroics in his debut which were accompanied by a standing O and just so much respect from the red sox fans and watching hit a 450 foot home run tonight, i found myself in a really tough spot. Bay's success will go hand in hand with the way the red sox close out this season and i dont know whether or not to be happy for him. so i guess my question is this, am i being a hypocrite by now more or less "rooting for the sox" or do i have to divorce Bay altogether

i know this sounds ridiculous but im actually really troubled over this. so let me know your thoughts

me too...

but hey if you like him you like him....i love JV!! and if he ever left the sox, and went anywhere other then the yankees, i would still like him! but he wont! but like when adam v left the pats....i still like him!

but on that note...im going to the game today!!! so i must be off!!!

GO SOX!!!!

yeah, he just kinda sucks know, so i think it was probably a good decision. he wanted like 50 million dollars for a couple years.

i used to LOVE johnny damon. i read his book, and then whattaya know, a year later he leaves the sox for 5 more mils. now i hate him so much. its really up to you, its not like the yankees were your favorite team, it was the pirates. you loved jason bay, so i say go with the sox.

thats diff tho because he went from sox to yanks. if he went to any other team it wouldnt be as bad.

i think that if you have respect for a player because he is good then thats fine no matter what team hes on. no boston supporter should seriously walk around saying derek jeter is an awfull shortstop, one of the worst in the game, because its simply a fact that hes not. everyone goes thru slumps, so at that point in time they may say it but hes a good player and saying hes not is really just ignorant. you can not like him as much as you want, you may hate his guts, but not acknowledging his skill is just being immature and you're obviously gonna get shutdown with facts and highlights of his career
