RIP. Red Bull is much more than (my favorite) an energy drink, its a company who has helped push the limits of extreme sports, including our own. Poor some out for this homie who helped our sport!
 
RIP. Im not the biggest redbull fan, but i once drank rum and redbull for fun, and ended up absolutely wasted. Thanks for creating a product that helped me get really really wasted this past new years
 
rip ma dude. I drank so many on the last rail jam of the season / prom back in highschool.. it was an interesting night

However the guy who created the drink itself died, not the Austrian guy Dietrich Mateschitz who made Red Bull into the brand it is today.
 
DM found the precursor to the drink in SE asia on a trip and bought the western distribution rights to the product.

he is the one behind the company Red Bull, the drink was originally called krating deang or something like that, and they changed the flavors to be more palatable to the different tastes of western consumers, calling it red bull ( as a nod to the original name and logo, which referred to an asian type of bull, and the logo had two red bulls charging at eachother)

yoovidihya was a partner with DM in red bull, he owned 49%, dm owned 49%, and yoovidihya's son owned the remainder as a sign of good faith from DM

yoovidhya was not the guy behind the red bull as you know it, that was mateschitz. he just invented the basis for the drink.

still, sad to hear he passed, although he was pretty old, so that is what happens.
