Record player speakers/receiver

My GF has a record player she uses a lot and we recently moved it to a different location so the DVD player/receiver it is hooked to is kind of an eyesore. What can we replace it with? Already have some speakers so should I just replace the DVD for a dedicated receiver? Or...?

Just get a dedicated receiver. The only problem you might run into is if the record player uses phono, then you are going to have to look for a receiver with a phono input or get a phono amp.

It uses the regular R/W audio cables.

Ok, so that takes phono out of the equation. I would just get an A/V receiver then.

Anything cheap you can recommend? I don't know shit about that stuff.

I don't know too much about new models since I already bought a reciever around 5 years ago. What I would recommend is going to a retail store (Best Buy, Local electronics shops) and telling them your needs and budget and they will give you a recommendation. That's what I did.
