I want to get some twin tips for just an all mountain ski (and the occasional jib of course). I was wondering out of these four which everyone seems to think would be the best all around, but if you recommend something else from these companies feel free to mention it. I ski about 70% frontside and 30% backside.

rossi - scratch fs

volkl - v_pro

k2 - public enemy

salomon - teneighty

I was also wondering what size would go best with a 6'2' and 170 lb me. I was thinking of going with around the 170 mark, but since I want it to be a little more all purpose if I should jump up to the 180 mark.

any help appreciated. I live in houston so nobody around here has first hand experience with skiing.

I had some bandits that I loved...so the B2 might be a good choice. You will want a stiffer twin for all mountain, so something like the troublemaker or public enemy would be fine too. If you want something cheaper from previous years, get some mad trix or candides. The candides are the stiffest twin I have tried, and they are awesome for all mountain use or in the park. If you plan to be in deep pow, they are a little skinny though.

thanks for the rec's guys but I'm trying to go with something more for the park as well. I spent quite a bit of time in the park last year with my 188 X-screams and could use a change up this time around.

I think I'm leaning towards the PE and the V-pro since the word is they are a little stiffer and would handle the all-mountain thing better. I also think I'll go with the 180 size for more versatility. Would ya'll agree with this or should I still go down to a 170.

180 v-pro or 179 PE. the others arent options.

I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day

YOU STAY OUT OF THIS!!!! u just want him to get tm's

If you live in Houston i wouldnt buy any skis i would rent some first of all. The value of the ski will depreciate more than you can ski it so i would rent. But if you do choose to buy i would get 180 V-Pros for sure. PE is cool but they arent as all mountain as the V-pro. Plus your a pretty big guy 6'2. i am 5'11 and i am riding 189 Pistols. So you should really go for 180 V-Pros.

get public enemys 179 or for a true almoutain since you 6'2 you should go with something long like a eric pollard pro 186, youll stiff be taller than them.

still be taller than them i mean. i ussually let most my spellign errors go but that might sound liek im calling you a stiff or something.

thanks to everyone that responded, seriously.

I'm going to go for the v-pro's and hope there are still some 180's left. I figured it's best to not go for the 190's with what I'm looking to do.

Get the V-Pros...They rock, I ride them, and they are awesome for on the mountain as well as the park. They are nice and stiff and perform really well when skiing outside the park.

If you want your skis to last you a long time, go with Mad Trix or Volkl.

And get this, on the news the other day they did a big story about old people dropping dead from heat exhaustion. They urged my community to donate fans to keep them alive!!
