My shitty little pearstone tripod's leg recently broke off and Im in need of a new tripod. I want a tripod that you can also buy QR plates that are compatible with the tripod (manfrotto might be the only company?) Ive really been wanting a tripod where I can just pop on/off the camera and then quickly put it on a crane or a glide cam. So whats a good setup for around 150ish, I know thats pretty cheap for a decent system and you are all gonna tell me buy it nice don't buy it twice. But I just really don't wanna spend much more than that on a tripod, but if its really necessary I guess I wouldn't be opposed to it.

arca-swiss is the most common for photography, there are tons of things like l-brackets for almost any camera. The manfrotto 577PL is the quick release used by the 501 and 701 hdv heads, and I have heard that they are compatible with the sachtler ace. Also, some tripod heads allow you to take off the quick release portion (I have a ball head with an arca plate system that comes off with 1 bolt). As far as cheap tripod, look for something on personal-view.com make an account, its free, and you can get some insane stuff really cheap on there, and it will be better than what you can find in your price range anywhere else

It'll screw onto any I assume, it has a female tripod mount. If it doesn't work for some reason just return them.

OP, plates aren't compatible with tripods. They're compatible with the head ON the tripod. The legs are totally irrelevant for what QR system you're using.

You probably should save money on a poor/used tripod and spend your money on the head/plates.

plus the shitty ones are usually aluminum and a lot lighter. just make sure the head screws off before you buy.
