Recommend me a ski - EAST COAST

I'm living out in the east coast but I might try to make a couple trips out west some point in the year. I'm for sure trying to progress in the park a lot more than last year so I need a ski that I can go pretty big on jumps and hold it down on rails too. So a park ski is really what i'm after but also that I can use to cruise on the rest of the mountain too so if the snow is better than last year i can use outside the park..

-I'm 6'0

-Around 160 lbs

Binding recommendations to go with the ski are also appreciated

I have some choices in mind but i'm looking to get a lot of other opinions before I go out and buy one, +kkkk for some legit answers, Thanks:)

Yeah I was looking at these awhile back and i noticed that they are 100% rocker. Can anyone tell me how rocker compares to camber? I've never riden skis with rocker but i've heard they might not hold up as well on ice living in the east and all..

Take a look at this year line chronics, i just picked up a pair myself. 92 underfoot with a bit of early rise. I have them mounted with fks14s and they feel pretty light in hand(I haven't gotten a chance to ride them yet) but that would be my suggestion everyone loves the chronic!

For the east I'd go with something that has camber underfoot the early rise tip and tail full rocker probably doesn't hole the best edge.

on3p filthy riches are my choice for you rockered, symmetrical, and 88 underfoot has a medium flex for going big and slaying rails i am going to mount mine with p14s and i am stoked another suggestion i have been looking into is the line traveling circus it looks like a solid ski!

the new chronic would be great. i would probably say the 178 but 185 would be fine also. im not an expert on sizes

I had Volkl Walls last season. They are a solid and stiffer ski and will do just fine for all mountain in the east.

You have plenty of options ma friend.

My suggestions:

Line Blend w/ Griffons (my setup)

Surface Double Time w/ FKS (my setup)

On3p Jiberish Jefferey's with FKS (future setup)

Rossi Schimitar w/ FKS

Line Chronic w/ FKS

Line Anthem w/ FKS

All versatile skis. Can't go wrong with any of these.

Thinking about AR7's or the new chronic cryps seeing as that seems to be the consensus here.. I was riding an old pair of chronics a couple years back and I was really loving them until they broke over-rotating a 9 (but i think thats just because of shitty mounting job). I know the cryptonite is wider but does anyone see a difference in how wider skis perform on rails? Always stuck with the skinier type but I feel like they'd be better jumpwise though. Thanks for all the feedback so far, i've hooked up all your karmaa.

Still open to more suggestions tho :)

I recommend the Line Chronics. I have the 2010 model and am completely happy with them. They are great for the park and trails alike. Also hold their own in glades. This will be my third season with them and have no regrets. I have a saloman binding not to sure the model. Plus they look sick.

I have a lot of friends on scimitars and they had no problems mocking turns on ice. Rossi's rocker is a very smooth elongated profile. It's gonna feel surfy and smooth when not engaged, but as soon as you tip it on edge the entire length of the ski, not just the camber, is gonna be working. If you want to excel in park and still rip all over the mountain my suggestion is to avoid the noodly park skis and get a good stiff ski around 90cm. Rossi scratch, storm, and scimitars will all definitely fit the bill. I'm on s4's and love em to death. Armada ar7's would be good too, definitely not as stiff as rossi's but they will still kill it, super fun/light park skis.

As for bindings any 14-16 max din will be fine. FKS, STH, Jesters, Deadbolts are all popular choices. I'm guessing your probably gonna ride around a 8-10 chart DIN, ideally you want to be spank in the middle of the range, and no less than 2 from either end.

Chronics. the Domain or Recoil wouldd also be sick depending on what exactly your looking for but if I had to pick again as an east coast skier I would probably go with the chronics

i rode the nordica pacos last year in january with nordica and i thought they performed exceptionally well all mountain. great on jumps as well, didn't take them on rails as I was not allowed haha.

Ahh im sorry to bump this again but i've come to the decision of either Line Chronic or AR7. They both cost the same and from the reviews they seem to be about equal. I just want a final poll between the two based on all your opinions. Will hook up everyone with madd karma :)

Armada El Rey and The Squire you probs haven't heard good reviews of them on NS but with your weight you will get a good bang for your buck
