Hello NS,

Im looking for a cheap but functioning glidecam for a T3i. It should be on the cheaper end (less than 200), but still managing to make look professional in ski edits. Thank you.

how gentle on your equipment are you?

if you are pretty easy on it and take good care of it a cheap alternative is the flycam nano

you need to treat it nicely (ie when you are not using it keep it in the case)because it is not the most robust thing. you need to keep an allen key with it to tighten the top plate onto the post when you take it out of the case (it completly disassembles to go into the case). it is mostly metal (minus a few plastic parts) and does work really well (with practice). the build quality is not as high as the glidecam, and it definately takes longer to balance (although i can now balance mine in under 5 minutes) but when it is properly balanced it produces similar results for a fraction of the price.

you can pick it up around $100 - highly recomend a quick release plate (not the crap one it comes with but a good manfrotto one etc)if you do go this route.

if you are hard on your equipment though this option is not for you

Go buy boomie's knock off, i have the same one and for 70$ it is better than anything you will find.

+ you are helping a fellow NS user...
