Recommend me a film based on real events

Needing to watch a film and ones based on real events tend to be pretty interesting, catch me if you can, blow, 71: into the fire(worth a watch, Koreans did well with this) and I was vaguely watching I love you phillip morris, and it seemed pretty good. So yeah, any good films that are based on real events(obviously don't say anything like 300, but like a legitimate story)

Thanks

Private ryan is overrated, decent, but all war films are overrated.

Lol, and I challenge you to find somebody over the age of 15 who hasn't seen jumanji.

and thanks zz I'll check it out.

Also another good film for anyone wondering is charlie wilson's war.

Yeah, you see films at the cinema haha, don't often hear people call them movies.

This actually made me crack up

but im suprised no one suggested Argo unless you want a documentary, but you did mention catch m if you can and blow so...

Cyd you haven't lived.

POT I'll check it out, not so much looking for a documentary, but a cool film/documentary sorta.

Skavenger seen them all, 127 hours was lacking, into the wild I can't really remember but I might check it out, and 21 is one of my all time favourites, didn't realise it was based on a true story, checking up on the MIT blackjack team now.

Seen rwanda, interesting but I'm looking for films based on specific people, rather than races/wars, should have said that earlier.

I'm gonna dl argo, looks good, and just seen that the pirate bay AFK is out, definitely checking that out.

A Beautiful Mind, The Pianist, Braveheart... ok, I'll stop now, just happen to really like this kind of movie

Braveheart is about as historically accurate as Jurrasic park. Just saying. A film about Scottish independence, filmed entirely in Ireland with fictional characters and an Australian actor. Sigh.

Wait Jurassic park wasn't real?!? haha, yep, I am most definitely not recommending it to learn history from...but William Wallace was a real person...

haha okay cool. i guess thats why a bunch of kids on here call them films, i havent really checked the regions when i see it.

and you stand in the que to buy your ticket? haha i dated a girl from Yorkshire who had all that hilarious slang. "im not bothered" was my favorite

haha, no my comment was on the word 'que', we would say 'wait in line'

plus im canadian anyway, we have the queen on our money old chap

When you say based on real events what do you mean?

It's such a broad spectrum these days.

You can make a movie about aliens killing children and eating their intestines and growing into giants and knocking over buildings.

^ You can call that based on a true story because children have died, and buildings have fallen over.

Are you looking for based on a real story for real. Are you looking to something that's based off of different events that happened but a fictional story. Are you looking for something like the 4th kind that's "based off a true story"

oh lawdie no. saw it last night - never again.

these movies arent based off true events but could definitely happen in real life:

Can we throw in awesome docs?

Rising Son: The Legend of Skateboarder Christian Hosoi

Bones Brigade: An Autobiography

^ If you like skating those are both great

As far as movies my memory blows but when I think of some or go back on netflix I'll post some.

hahaha yeah mang, I got that same feeling. To me, it comes off as complete propaganda but I'll save my thoughts for another time.
