Dude. First, look through the other threads. If you are still lost, you're gunna have to tell us your price range, your intentions of use, where you see yourself taking photography/videography in the future, how often you plan on using it, etc. Basically say anything and everything you can if you want the best recommendation.

Sony a5100 or Sony a6000 both are compact mirror less cameras with Sony e mount that can be adapted to canon or Nikon glass. They have an aps-c crop sensor. They shoot 1080p at 60 and have the option to shoot slog 2 and take solid still photos. Price range is around 500 to 700 with a Sony 15mm-50mm lens

I have a sony a6000 and i just recently got a canon eos m and the canon has better video in my opinion, especially with the ability of having magic lantern and its way cheaper. Saying that, i would recommend the canon eos m for ya because its very cheap, especially if you live in america, ad it has the same sensor as canon rebel camera up to the t4i i believe (not too sure) and it takes great photos. For video it is really good, you get a really nice shallow depth of field for cinematic looks and if you get it with the 18-55 kit lens, which i have, it takes great photos/videos and has really nice bokeh for that kinda lens. If you are in america then here is the link :http://www.amazon.com/Canon-EOS-Mir...ie=UTF8&qid=1435987898&sr=8-10&keywords=canon+eos+m (you can probably find cheaper)

And if you are in canada (like me) i had a pretty hard time finding one for less then 400. But i got mine used off kijiji for 300. Hope that helped

I have not used the canon eos m yet but I don't think the video quality is better than the sony a6000. the a6000 has 1080p at 60 compared to the canon eos m with 1080p at 30. The eos m uses .mov with h.264 compression as the capture codec and the a6000 uses xavc-s, a much better capture codec for video IMO. the a6000 also shoots 11 stills per second and the eos m shoots like 5 fps. the autofocus on the a6000 is also a lot better with 179 focus points compared to the eos m with 49 focus points.

I would go with the a6000 over an eos m
