okay so FINALLY my parents have agreed to take a ski trip next spring break. They said I could pick anywhere I wanted to go. I want to either go to Mammoth or Lake Tahoe (N*, Squaw, and Alpine Meadows). This trip would be the first week in April. Just based on average snowfall and terrain (park and steeps) where would you go? Oh and I'm from Wisconsin so pretty much seeing a mountain would make me shit myself, the biggest i've ever skied is 400 vertical feet and the most pow is 6 inches over a groomed run. Any help would be very much apreciated. Thanks.

Late march (spring break) 2 years ago was epic pow ever day, this year was 60+ and sunny every day and there was plenty of snow even though it was a bad year... so ya, Tahoe is prime at that time, go there,

how bout whistler or vail or aspen or canyons area or baker or calgary banff area or whatever dude take your pick, mammoth and tahoe blew ass this year

Well it has to be in the US for starters.... and... I want to go to either Tahoe or Mammoth, just not sure on which place to go. It would be more helpful if you just told me which one of those and why instead of telling me every other place that YOU would go. Ughhhh.

if you go to tahoe

forget northstar and go to sierra, kirkwood, and alpine

but i would really recomend mammoth, they have amazing parks, and the rest of the mountain is huge and gnarly

i was just at tahoe the beginning of april, we went to heavenly three times since we stayed there, kirkwood, and squaw, heavenly had a pretty sick park becuase they had the transworld snowboard comp at the end of the week, and kirkwood had a sick park also, squaw didn't have to much, but was still pretty good.

hey, I went to Tahoe and Mammoth last year and they were both pretty awesome. If you want to go mountain hopping then obviously Tahoe has a few more to offer. But don't forget that June Mountain is down by Mammoth and they have some of the biggest jumps in the land, stuff Mammoth can't build anymore after a couple "incidents"...

don;t go to baker, there's not really any nightlife or places to stay, and the park blows for most of the year. leave it to the locals, unless you want to be driving 1/2 to an hour every morning to ski.

it is rumored that June isnt opening again next season because of the terrible snow year this year and big money problems

and mammoth had no trouble building stuff this year, it was still easily the funnest park i hit all year

If I were to stay in tahoe where would be the best central location to all the prime mountains to hit up?

go to UTAH dumbass

snowbird

deer valley

alta

park city

canyons

all within half n hour of eachother. man what are you thinking? Utah is the obvious choice.

tahoe is titties.

not too great with no snow (like when i went) but the parks are fun for when shit is melting

tahoe last year april was epic i went on the 2nd week of april and got 40" the first night shredded pow for 2-3 days then hit some epic park set up at kirkwood and alpine dopest shit go there

go to tahoe i went this year and hit up nothstar and squaw and it was amazing. northstars parks are prime and really nice. and you cant really beat squaw or alpine for steeps and big mountain. go there for sure.

dude, you just put deer valley in that. WTF? You don't include solitude and brighton. I think you are a dumbass for telling him to go to deer valley. That place is for rich people that only care about gourmet food and groomers and spend $40-50 more for shittier conditions.

Utah! go to utah! or Summit County if you want to ride some really good park, and hang with some really chill people... one of my most epic trips was late march at keystone, everyone was fucking throwing down, and it was legit, definately fun... but i have a soft spot for keystone...

but man... take if from me (also doing time in WI), go wherever you can... any mountain is gonna make you shit yourself and your going to have fun

Hey Brandon you retard... Alaska is in the U.S. :) Heli trip... you could bring me with. Just kidding but i would go to either Utah or Colorado. But then again I would go pretty much anywhere outside of wisconsin and be stoked.

I had a great trip to Summit County in March this year - Lots of variety - Vail is mind blowingly huge and the park in Keystone was sick (and they have night skiing :)

word... usualy anywhere in the big cotten wood or little cotten wood canyons are good. (in Utah right outside of SLC)

WHISTLER BLACKCOMB......the best ski resort in North America. They have amazing backcountry and a not too bad park (from picss.....i'm stuck in ohio) Or Breck and Keystone for sick park.
