Recomend me some headphones

I searched but the last thread was from feb and I want some more recent info.

I don't know much about headphones and I'm looking for some new ones for everyday use/traveling. High quality sound and durability are important, and I'm willing to spend up to $100. So what are some good ones to look at?

And please don't recommend anything skullcandy

sennheiser makes the most quality stuff you'll ever buy. Might be too pricey tho.

I have a pair of HD555 open ear headphones and they're basically jesus. see what you can find.

a) I already know about skullcandy

b) I can probably get better for my money

c) 90% of ns will just respond with some kind of skullcandy headphone.

But to answer the previous question i'm mostly going to just be listening to music and watching videos, maybe use them for games. I listen to a lot of hip hop so lots of bass is always nice too.

wait a sec, are you looking for earbuds or dj-style headphones? because with regards to brands there is a HUGE difference. for dj-style you'll be wanting either sony, sennheiser, or bose, for earbuds you'll want either shure or creative.

If your wanting to go dj style and spend a little more, my ultra stone dj1s are the best headphones I have ever owned, and thats saying alot as I have owned atleast 10 $100+ headphones

no disrespect to skullcandy, its just I already know about them and am looking to check out some other ones. I'd still consider them and I know what i'd be getting.

Sorry, forgot to mention I want dj style headphones.

then the sony mdrs are great for you, but try to find some used ultrasone dj1s, you will fall in love, the most amazing headphones, the speakers are made in a way that they arent blasting into your eardrum but around, giving a realistic surround feel, also they isolate like crazy, I use them in the club and cant hear anything but whats inside the headphones at all time

finally someone that knows their shit. i wish i had a pair. right now im using AKG K81DJ headphones. they've got good sound and good looks.

if you really pushing sound quality get some Grado SR80s

Ok since most of ns knows absolutely nothing about headphones don't listen to them.

There were a few good responses in here though.

Grado makes excellent headphones, most are open air though, which means people around you will be able to hear your music, so not great for crowded areas, but they will be very sick headphones.

Sennheiser makes great stuff as well don't know a ton about them other than that they are nice and liked by audiophiles.

I have AKG 81 DJ's, which they don't make anymore, but I think they make a similar model now anyway, they were like $70 for me and I love them. They are not active noise cancelling but they keep outside wounds out very well. The bass is really good too, better than any skullcandy shit or Bose, especially if music is coming out of a CD player, computer, or amplifier/stereo.

Sony makes some good stuff too, stay away from their low end stuff though, I'm not sure about models of Sony's that are good but if you spend $100 on Sony headphones they will most likely be good headphones.

Bose are shit, don't buy them. They advertise them as the "ultimate in luxury" headphone or whatever but in reality they are not good heaphones, especially for what they sell them for, it's all marketing.

I've heard Audio Technica makes some good stuff too but I know next to nothing about them.

just get a pair of skullcandy icons or soemthing. lifetime warranty and they look nice. the importance of sound quality is way too over rated these days. i mean i would understand if youre like in a band or something and u actually wanna hear every single little detail more clear. but i mean if youre not really that into music urself then it wont really make a big difference at all

I had some grado 125's

the sound made me bust a nut each time.. I still use my old cheap 60s for monitoring when Im recording, the sound is so flat its awesome for monitoring

very true i have a pair. and there so legit. make skullcandys seem like complete shit. they were hella expensive tho.

I second this notion. they're really crazy about headphones and know stuff. I think a lot of them spend tens of thousands of $ on listening to music. if you want the best for your money, they'll point you in the right direction. Just make a thread there asking what you want the headphones for and how much

might be a little bit of a stretch, but find a friend (or pay someone a lil extra) that works at best buy to use their discount and get Bose Triports. Their regularly like i think around $140, and you can get them for around $80 with the discount. Easily the best headphones i've ever owned and the most comfortable. Sound quality is amazing and the block out outside noise very well.

My bose headphones are awesome. changing the equalizer on my ipod reeaaallly changes everything. Overall they are awesome, i dont see why kids talk shit, they are great quality headphones.

I think I have some new headphones I got for a present. They seem pretty much like earplugs when I put them in my ears. If your still looking, and am maybe interested pm me, and I can find them and get pictures or whatever

becasue they are extremely overrated. their fairly expensive and dont have very good sound quality. the reason half of ns has them is because a)they have a really good warrenty and b) they sponsor like every person in the action sports industry/give away icons like candy.

thats great but I ALREADY FUCKING KNOW THAT. You noobs need to know how to read, I said not to mention skullcandy and so far half the post is about them.

Thanks the the people the actually gave good advice though, the Sony MDR-V700DJ's look really nice

cocksucking bitch. skullcandy headphones are sick for the price and warranty. why would people recommend them? they kick ass. if you want to spend all your money get some boses

just dont get them for sound. i have a pair, they have little bass and theyre quiet, and not terribly good at noise cancellation, but go for it they look dope. id recommend the sk pros by skullcandy. not the coolest looking, but great sound.

No. Bose is way overpriced. I'm not saying their stuff isnt decent, but their prices are way overboard.

Their whole strategy is to market themselves as an extremely premium product and charge likewise, but all you'll be getting is an overpriced item. They market to people with more money than good sense.

skullcandy is all looks for the price. plus some of the headphones are too stylish and make you look like avril lavigne.

i wouldnt go with the sony v7000DJ because the chord is pretty annoying. its really thick, curly, not really conveniant for mp3 use.

lol at all the Skull candy/bose recommendations. Sure, those may sound great, until you hear some senns or ultrastones, or higher end sonys. Then you know how AWFUL they are.

You're a fucking retard. I never said I don't like skullcandy, I said I already know about them and I want to hear about OTHER brands. Stop clogging my thread with your stupidity

Imagine how cool you could look with ultrasone headphones like me and my thousands of dollars of crap.

(shameless bragging, I know.... and you should see my speakers)

I mix all the way from breaks, to latino, to house, mostly electro house.. I scratch sometimes its fun, but pretty hard, kinda like Mixing house and breaks is like skiing groomers, and scratching is like park skiing.

I mix two nights a month at the Puma store here so I get some pretty sweet clothes for free for this winter.

get a pair of sennheiser HD 280 pros, you can get for like $60, best head phones i ever bought. i think they are better than the bose.

i did a lot of research when i was buying headphones and found that the akg k81s are the best headphones under 100$ (i think there like 60 in the states). i like mine, i just wish they had a more boomy (aka shitty) bass. the bass is present but i wouldnt describe the k81s as bassy

i tried some boses (comfort ones maybe?) at future shop and i loved them, but there really fucking overpriced

you sir are a fucking retard. This guy wants good sound quality low riders are prob the worst sound quality for the price. Icons are wayyy better and cheaper. And yeah i know this guy doesnt want skullcandys.

Also skullcandy warranty is not all how people make them out to be. I can't believe how well they got such a misleading thing like that into everyone's heads.

if your also worried about the warranty, i had a pair of my bose triports and they got FUCKED up. Im sayin these things were only being held together by super glue n shit and head arch kept breaking. I called bose and said that they got really messed up. I put them in a box, sent them to the adress he gave me adn within a week got a bnib pair.
