They can handle some, especially if it's light, but there are better mid-fat skis on deep days. I liked them for doing a bit of shallow pow skiing because they are quick, and cut through the snow nicely, but a more rockered ski will give you more lift.
I'm thinkin 5-8 inches which is prolly a lil conservative ideal ... funny two schools of thought on whether you like to be in it or flying surfing on top of it. With the Reckoner 102 would just be slayin less but fast as hell, curvaceous troughs. Just to advantageous to have a wider stick for anything above. Maritime pow is great in that because of the moisture content we can stay more on top in steep terrain and be able to do more...especially with 110 and above
i rode reckoner 102 all last season and even in 6-12” of snow they ripped without hesitation, any more snow than that you will probably want a wider ski
