I just bought a used Ipod and have a few questions that you guys could prolly answer.

The iPod came with a bunch of songs and i want to keep some and want to delete some, is this possible? the first time i plugged it in itunes prompted a question about the music already on the iPod saying it can only be linked to one library or something. and i selected the middle option, the option that doesn't delete all of the music.

Now i put some new songs in my library and when i go to sync them onto the ipod it will delete all of the songs on the ipod that arnt in the libarary (all of the songs that the ipod came with).

Can anybody help!?

Thanks

if you're on a mac download a demo of ipod rip and rip all the songs off your ipod and into itunes. then reformat your ipod for your computer and put whatever songs you want back on your ipod

you could either use SENUTI (a free program for macs), or if your a windows user like me you need to open up your ipod in my computer, go to the options, and find "show hidden files". once the hidden files are shown just go into the music one and drag everything in it into your itunes. ive done this about 4 times and it works really amazingly. i would google it though because i forget how, and you can probably find step by step insutrction on how to do it. its not a big deal and does not affect your ipod at all!

download a program called pod player package.

put the exe file on the ipod at a storage device.

disconnect ipod

reconnect ipod, close itunes.

open podplayerpackage

extract the songs you want to a folder on your computer

open itunes

clear library

add songs to itunes

go!

use a program like idump or senuti to rip the music on you cp. then you can just delete the ones you dont want and then just import it into your itunes so when you do delete the music off your ipod you can re import it

well i tried to make my own trend by buying a Zune and telling my friends it's way better than their ipods however it is a massive failure IMO

uhhh cant you just click on the name of the ipod in the side bar, then click manually manage music or something like that?

or is the problem that they had a pc and you have a mac/viceaversa

^ yeah listen to these guys.

there's no way to keep the music unless you download another program first.

iTunes is a bitch

iTunes is a retarded program.

if you want to play music use MediaMonkey,

if you want to put shit on your iPod and take it off, use ephPod.

yo maki, i know it alrdy deleted, but what for now next time when you plug it in, click on the ipod icon to get to the ipod setup, then at the bottom ull see a box that says manually manage music and files, check that box and you should have no problem, depending on how new the ipod is
