Reasons to have a park

I was kidding about how my mountain sucked so I'm rephreasing the thread.

What are some good reasons for a mountain to have a park?

make more money cause kids like us will go if the park is dope

all they care about is money so give them that reason

it would attract people to the resort that might not normally go, which would bring in more money

but seriously let me give you one of their responses:

Thanks Nate. I

appreciate you taking the time to express your

views.

We’re all life-long

Crystal skiers

here. We love this place and want what’s best for it. All the potential plans

in the MDP (Master Development Plan) will get a lot of consideration from every

angle to make the best possible decisions. We’ll take every care to improve and

not detract from the great terrain we have here. One thing we don’t plan to do

is build a terrain park. We don’t want or need one. That’s just the way it

is. Enjoy Crystal for what it is. Our natural terrain is

awesome. If you must have a terrain park there are other nearby resorts that

have parks so you certainly have freedom of choice. We are going to keep on

doing what we like to do, enhancing the lift access and trails to some of the

best natural terrain in the Northwest. It’s worked fine for us since we opened

in 1962 and in fact just gets better and better. If skiing and riding real

mountains is what you want to do, you’ll want to come to Crystal.

Thanks again for your

comments. Hope you’ve had a great winter…take care this summer, have fun and

we’ll see you next season!

i think a good response to that would be, im sorry but you will not see me or any of my family and friends next year, maybe not that extreme but something like that and then continue to tell them how you do not want to support a resort that will not support you, i hope that made sense because it sounded pretty good in my head

ok so i just read what i wrote and its pretty much crap, disregard everything in my previous post

I would like to ski some natural terrain. My local hill is a golf course all summer. If you don't turn when you get off the chair you go straight into a dormant sand trap.

Crystal Mountian has always not had a park, its not a crowd they can effectively cater to. Stevens Pass, White Pass and The Summit all have great parks you can go ski at, and are closer for a lot of people as well. Cystal knows that they wont be able to compete with that, so they dont try to. Thier resort has an incredible backcountry, and they've realized this and have taken steps to make that their dominant and attractive feature. And it works. I would totally buy a season pass at crystal, but I cant afford it, and go for the college pass at Stevens instead. But I would trade it in a minute for a full pass at Crystal.
