ok. you have SO many misconceptions about this site. If you feel the need to hate so badly you should probably just leave. The info here is for people who appreciate the fact that there are a large amount of kids on here who are relatively well-off, who use their parents money, and are spoiled. However, there are many others who work for everything they buy related to skiing.
Don't put yourself so high up. If you're disgruntled about some kids not having to pay paying $30 for some pre-season stoke you clearly put things in perspective here.
i think the movie itself was very good in terms of editing and the amount of money and time put into it.. although, i think the transition were a bit too long and it got a bit boring at times.. i still think that turbo should have won best flim..
I know this isn't classical, but it just reminded me of Ahmet's and Will Wesson's segment in Turbo, with the song "Fanfare"-Black Violin. I started listening to them after watching that seg, and they have some pretty dope instrumental stuff.
I really wasnt sure if i wanted to shell out to buy this movie, while it wasn't my favorite of the year (can't really beat turbo) so far i am still glad i bought it. Its a unique movie with amazing skiing and while there was a good bit of talking in it i normally didn't mind it and the amazing shots and skiing completely made up for it. There was a good soundtrack and im also one of those kids who loves talking about skiing, so i really didn't mind listening to pros speak about their inspiration towards the sport for a couple minutes.
I just got my copy of reasons. and watched it and thought it was super good! i do agree with the idea that they went a little heavy on the slow mo stuff, but all together it was a great film. you also can't beat the soundtrack, from hot chip to mgmt, rise against, radio head, sufjan stevens and marley. soo sick.
In my opinion Reasons was a breath of fresh air with ski films. Johnny D came through with a solid film doing exactly what the title says...giving reasons why we're all on this damn site arguing about opinions. We all love to ski and he made a film about why we do that. If you're wanting to watch a film that is only bangers, pretzels and generic material, then you shouldn't have came to watch a film marketed as an intrinsic piece to why we love this sport. I think he came through on both fronts, but if your attention span doesn't allow you to see that, then perhaps you need to change your perspective...or take your ritalin.
you know, i don't mind radiohead, but i find a lot of their new stuff just sounds so bland...i've heard so many other bands in their genre that sound the same and even better, but never get any credit because radiohead has the name brand attached, it seems like all their songs go to the top because of who their name
i would maybe agree with you if ive only seen it once. trust me, each time you watch it it gets better and better. turbo was awesome the first time, but its gets old pretty fast. reasons just keeps getting better and better
