Hey, I was riding today and I fucked up my rim. I ride a P2, so they're the stock ditch witch rims. I want to slap a 24 inch rear on there, but i'm not sure as to whats hot and what's not. I have a 36-hole hub right now with an 8 gear cassette and a 6 inch rotor and was wondering if this would match right up to a new 36-hole 24 incher. Also what kind rim do you think i should swing for? I ride a lot of street and DJ's, but at school I'll be riding trail and northshore too. Price is also a factor. Trying to keep the build under triple digits. Thanks for the help.

my friend just got an atom lab 24inch for the rear and its sick. i dont think it was too pricey either

Depends how strong/heavy you want it to be.

Unless you give me more details I'm going to say doubletracks... ask your lbs, they'll hook you up. The can probably use your old hub and spokes to shave off the bucks.

Trailpimps are very costly, and though I have no personal experience with them... customer service ain't so great seeing as atomlab is a one man show.

For that kinda buck I'd go with Mag30s or Mavic 321s (or whatever the hell they're called now).

Depends on how heavy you want it to be. If you want it to be light, get a rhyno lite Xl. if you want it to be strong but heavy, get a sun doubletrack. if you can find a deal, atomlab trail pimps are the best.

Also i find the weight of your rim affects the ride of your bike in terms of stability alot more than most people think. this is because it is additional rotation weight. this is more true in the front wheel than rear wheel though.

 
if we're talkin canadian, you can get like a 24 inch single track disc rim with hub and everything for liek 150... then slap some k rads on there and you'll have a street machine.. though, whats the problem with your rim, does it just need trueing?

double tracks are cool too.. my reccomendation is to just buy a whole new wheel. once you tally the cost of re lacing your hub to the 24 inch, if your shop will even re lace it for you, its still gonna be up there.. i think re lacing usually runs around 30 bucks, becuase keep in mind you'll need all new spokes too .. and there 1 or 2 dollars a peice.. it might just be easier to buy the whole wheell...

yeah i fucked up my rear rim too mowing the lawn the other day, a fucken wasp came soaring at me at like mach 2 and it knocked me right off my feet and i fell right on to this big metal rod out of the ground by the fence and it fucken hurt but the more and more i struggled to get out, it started to feel good and this was at noon hour and i only finished cutting the grass the next day at 2, fucken rod is addicting
