Realtime review please

level 1's strongest flick yet, it is one of the best of the year and a while. the editing and music was phenomenal with the focus of the movie on the whole year, not just individual athlete segments. the simple title in the corner of the athlete reminded me of high five and the b-roll footage was engaging with the crazy time-lapse shots and had very simple commentary. everyone and i mean EVERYONE kills it in realtime. there was not one bad shot in the movie and all the athlete's stepped it up from travis redd's first switch pow stomp to steele spence showing he can still run with the up and comers.

the urban section in the beginning was unbelievable with vanular doing more spin on and offs, switch ups, and rail transfers on crazy rails that looked like they should be in a video game. both decker, rainville, and wiley miller blow away the backcountry with blunt to blunt grabs, huge cab 9's and other ridiculous shit. wallisch, clarke and ahmet kill it at the end with the colorado park shoots. just wait till you see how many different cab 7's and 10's wallisch does and the potential clarke has.

pretty much a must buy for the year. i couldn't talk by the end of the film from the constant mind-blowing shots. i can't wait for my copy to come in the mail

i really liked the soundtrack. if i remember right it was more of electonicish/technois abstract sons with some rap/reggae speckled in?

This movie was the first movie where I don't remember 1 song from the entire movie, I was so focused on the skiing. When I got in my car I realized I didn't remember 1 song from the entire soundtrack

come to think of it, this is where I am

but it must have been decent...I mean, we aren't complaining about it. damn, I wish I could remember.

i really liked the soundtrack and knew more of the songs than normal when first watching a ski film.

some of them were clap your hands say yeah, le tigre, the album leaf and of course DL incognito

the song for the japan segment really added to the mesmerizing shots with rainville and decker blasting through 8 ft pow face shots

your memory must be terrible because it was by far the worst soundtrack i have ever heard in a ski movie. vanulars opening song was the only good one, but don't let this be a deciding factor in purchasing this movie because the shots are fucking ridiculous

the soundtrack was very good.  in fact, it was the best soundtrack from a ski movie this year, hands down.  either you have very limited musical exposure or you are thinking about a different movie.  the diversity of tunes was incredible and they used some of my favorite songs.  do yourself a favor and try to mix it up every once in a while, when you start to grow up you might find that you like something else other than gangster rap.

i do like rap along with many other style of music

i'm just not into techno music, but hey to each his own. i could see how you would love this soundtrack i'm sure it suits your metrosexual lifestyle to a T

take it easy dad.. i havent seen this movie yet but just because someone doesnt like the music doesnt mean they only like gangster rap. im really sick of that being the go-to response to anything here. level 1 has used some really cheesy music in the past few years

i would have to say the level 1 music is the best with the possible exception of TBC, but i care way more about how it flows for the movie than if i like it or not. that being said i still liked a lot of the songs they used

vanular opening segment in whistler, all kinds of sick urban and some pillow lines. then denver in december (snow storms) and more dope urban with vanular, hornbeck, liam, and travis. really cool locations, some in the ghettos of denver, and some hilarious encounters with locals. then on to island lake lodge with stephen, liam, and travis. cool terrain, not that great of snow but good use of soundbites to explain the scenario (new for level 1). then on to the san juan mountains and utah rainville, decker, marion, emil coty, wiley, and 2 french dudes appear in seggys here. super fun vibe and in classic level 1 style, it makes you really want to go build a booter and ski with your buddies. back to denver for another huge snow storm and more urban stuff. steele, hornbeck, travis, raniville, coker and a bunch of others are in the part. this is where the movie really starts to hit its stride. this goes into the japan seggy and rainville kills it here. i have never seen snow like this and the song works perfectly. this goes into montanta with a really strong segment with wiley, travis, and steele. this is my favorite song and sement from the movie. the vibe is so positive and i think this part captures the essence and the experience of backcountry skiing so well. they head over to crested butte with deck and travis then back to the san juans with decker and wiley. the editing is so tight in these two segments. blue skies, back country booters and really crisp cinematography. i know people think that time lapses are played but the ones used here are so dope and very unique. nice transition into utah with wiley and decker. wiley is amazing in the backcountry. he stomps the shit out of stuff. cool voice overs in this segment too which tell a cool story and explain the situation. keystone park shoot. watching this crew hit perfectly manicured photoshoot park features with helicopter follow cams is something i will never get tired of. it really showcases the size of these hits. wallisch and hornbeck have some great stuff here. on to idaho with wiley, clarke, hornbeck, and philipi. again, wiley blows minds here. switch 9 off a 50 foot cliff with some great voiceover storytelling. clarke stomps backcountry landings. great song and editing here again. spring skiing with liam and rainville at alpine meadows then to norway with stephen and liam. not great skiing (bad snow) but good editing and music. then to eclipse snowpark for a late season shoot with almost the entire level 1 crew. wallisch, ahmet, and adam delorme kill it. for those that have not seen adam delorme ski....it is worth getting this movie to watch him here. he is the epitome of steeze. i got sick of watching zero spins until i saw him doing them last year. on to eclipse and copper for the last song. classic level 1 closer. too many shots to list here...wallich, ahmet, hornbeck, and stpehen crush it. it is one shot after another of banger footy. there is even a shifty straight air here that i rewound a few times because it was so smooth (stephen). I have watched this movie 5 times and it gets better with every viewing. it is, hands down, level 1's best movie.

it is hard to comprehend everything the 1st time through because there is so much techy stuff, but there is no filler...every shot is quality. the colors are crisp, the music is on point, and the vibe is perfect. my favorite movie from this year and in my personal opinion, the best ski film since 1242.

I personally liked it quite a bit, but it takes a while to get into full swing. When you have 90% of the urban at the beginning of the movie it starts to get repetitive. Probably my 2nd favourite movie of the year, after Yeah Dude.

every movie this year has athletes KILLING it. I think Real Time really is the best well rounded movie and YEah Dude is sick aswell. Both show different sides of freeskiing, Real Time just had so much flow with everything in it.

not to dis on level 1 because i havent seen it yet.  But i thought save was sick, and they didnt overdo the global warming stuff

pdrago, either you have a photographic memory or you took notes. perfect blow by blow recap. I am with you, the more I watch it the better it gets.

can we stop arguing about the soundtracks on ski movies?

everybody has a different taste in music, absolutely everybody

and just something i agree with...

there is no good or bad music, music is an opinion
