Really really disturbing

what.. the.. hell..

religion just sounds so much stupider to me now!

"God's army"??!!

fuuck hahaha

that is fucked up, we should kill all of those little bastards before they kill us... haha jokes... but seriously something needs to be done.

I completely agree with that. It is impossible for children, who's mental capacities aren't even fully developed to make a complete decision regarding ultimately how they will live their lives. Even in myself, at 16, I find it hard enough to decide what I am going to do next weekend, so how can these kids possibly know what they want with their future.

Additionally, I believe that it is up to humankind as a whole to allow our future generations make their own decisions. We have to allow that to happen by being completely unbiased.

In the song Freewill by Rush (its not a very good song, I don't reccomend it) there is a line that says "You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice. If you choose to not decide, you still have made a choice". I've been sidetracked now, and don't exactly remember where I was going with this post, but somehow it all seems very relevant.

Religion is not a bad thing. The problem is when values take a backseat to this hocus-pocus nonsense.

I dont think you got his point. As a Catholic, you yourself are a Christian. These people are Evangelical Christians, not Catholics. Christianity is made up of many different denominations that believe that Jesus Christ is God. So stop calling them 'chrsitians'and bashing them cause you are one.

i got his point, he just made it sound like catholics are the same thing as christians. the overall belief in the bible, god, jesus, and all that is called christianity. so yes, he was correct, but i just wanted to make the point that while they may believe in similar things, they practice in completely different ways.

no, as you should probialy know is that the bible is just a bunch of "stories", and catholics focus on the virgin mary more than anything you retard.. christians share a fair amount on jesus, but mostly to god, i used to be a christian, till i realised that its all a bunch of bull.. jesus may have been a real person, but he wasn't the son of god... the cloth that was supposedtively owned by jesus they tested the age of it a long time ago, and it came up that it was only a couple hudred years old... so before you try to say some shit get your facts straight... its not like i havent reat the bible, i know what i'm talking about... obviously not you

Dude, you need to look at your beliefs a little more closely before saying this. A christian literally means "Christ Like," they were the people who followed and worshiped Jesus in his time. They were his diciples, the fathers of the Church. Catholics are christians. It is not like calling snowboarders the same as skiers....they are one in the same.

Secondly, catholics do not worship God any more than any other christians. THe trinity means that you worship Jesus and God as one. Plus, Jewish people worship God, asking for the saviour. If your church concentrates on God more, then you need to really question where your beliefs lie. Almost all religions believe in "God," yet what sets christians apart is their belief in Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Taking your focus off of Him is removing yourself from the essence of your beliefs. A catholic church that concentrates on God, not Jesus, has their focus a little blurred. He is the reason for Christianity.

On another note, while these kids may not completely know the scope of what they are saying, there is nothing wrong with their decision to follow Jesus. While adults may still struggle with this decision that these kids seem to be comfortable with at age 7, that does not mean that it is not valid. An evangelical christian, just as catholics, have a different way of worshiping that other people may think is wierd, but that does not make them any less of a valid christian in God's eyes. This is not brainwashing, but rather a vocal version of what is taught in Sunday school.

you keep saying that, and you're still wrong. I know what you mean, but it goes:

Christians

| \

Catholics Evangelicals and other protestants.

If you are a catholic, you are (supposedly) a christian. end discussion.

thats retarted

my parents are christian and go to church often as i do too. but i dont really believe in god or jesus because i can never say that jesus did anything for me. i cant believe something that i cant feel with my own hands or see with my own eyes. i respect people that believe in a religion but not to a point where u say u will give up ur life for jesus thats fucking crazy and stupid. u were put on this earth because nature evolved into human beings. shit like that is embarrising that humans can think that way towards something they cant prove is real. sorry i have a strong opinion but until "god" or "jesus" does something for my life, i will continue to think the way i want to and not let religion take over my life

hey man, i was going to post this in that thread, but i keep coming up on things that i get confused on. i dont really want to post this because i don't want to try to make generalizations about your faith without really having strong knowledge of it. im catholic and i have some limited experience with the evangelical christian church, and i just wanted to ask if this made sense or not. Im not trying to be a jerk or anything, im just trying to figure out some stuff.

the whole overall belief in the church, the bible, God, jesus, etc. is called Christianity. If you look at it that way, then yes, catholics are christians. however, there is a difference between a catholic church and a christian church, and it's all by the own denomination's definition of what a christian is. so really, it is like snowboarding and skiing. we're all part of a group of people who love snow, but we hold different beliefs as to how we should go about enjoying the snow. Conceivably, you could call us all "snowriders", but thats retarded because we're two almost completely different groups of people.

The way that a Christian practices their faith has alot more emphasis on accepting jesus christ as their savior. Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the only answer to the problem of separation from God. Catholics believe that salvation may only be achieved through God's grace, meaning through a personal relationship with god through prayer and reconciliation. Granted, we still believe that jesus was the son of God and he was sent down from heaven from heaven to forgive us our sins, but we pray to God for forgiveness. We pray that Christ will come again to remove our sins.
