Really good dinners

I've been working in the kitchen of a restaurant for a while as a chef, and my parents want me to make something for them sometime. I really don't want to, but i figure if i'm going to i might as well make a kick ass dinner you know? what are some super outstanding dinner courses that someone could make really really good? i want to impress them if i'm gonna do it.

make something italian, italian food always looks so pretty and good. and not just pasta stuff either, im talking like steaks and stuff too
