So real life experience guys. Okay. so unless you live under a rock, you all know about the attempted terrorist act in times square last Saturday. So i was in New York that day. One block away from the parking lot where the bomb-car was. All there badass NYPD guys were throwin ppl the fuck outta there and we were going to see In the Heights on broadway (for a musical, pretty cool) So, the po-po was being pretty intense about keeping ppl out of the area. So like thirty minutes of mob scene later, were trapped in the theater and the people who work there are making us stay in the place because nobody had any idea wht was going on. we later found out the story and thanked god that NYPD is on top of their shit./rant

lol nice. my aunt's car was no joke three cars away. cool. so she couldn't get to her car untill the morning, and they broke into it and it was searched.
 
well 1) we talked about the times square incident. it was a bomb scare durrr.

and 2) yes we've talked about your current residence under a rock multiple times.
 
that's really scary, and I'm glad you're physically okay, but I'm sure your not emotionally. Anyway, something similar happened to me during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Except, during that event event the bomb actually went off. The Centennial Olympic Park was bombed the same day I was there, as my Dad told me, I was only 5 at the time. We were there earlier in the day, when later that night as we were driving up to Hilton Head South Carolina. I guess the moral is that you never know when some nutjob is gonna ruin your day, or more importantly your life, that's why we should be thankful for every breath we take, because you never know when it'll be your last.

Well as long as this is "almost blown up stories" thread...
You know how since a few years ago you can't bring liquids on the plane anymore because some dude tried to blow up a plane with a liquid bomb but he got caught before he got on? He was going to hit a plane flying from London Heathrow to LAX (because they gots the most fuelz in them, 9/11 dudes did that same thing), and he got caught trying to board on the same day I was flying. I was flying Heathrow to LAX and I remember looking for my flight on the board and noticing there were only 2 Heathrow to LAX flights that day, I thought it was strange because usually there are more.
So yeah if he didn't get caught I would have had a 50% chance of being blown up.
 
my dads work partner..total douche lord..was supposed to be on the plane that crashed into the pentagon in '01 but since he couldn't get a first class seat, he refused to fly on that plane.

too bad the NYPD wasn't on top of their shit...if they were, the bomb would have never made it into a vacant car in times square. Everyone is commending the police and homeland security for a job well done, but these idiots didn't prevent a bomb from being placed in an American city.
 
Pretty on point. I mean I appreciate the job that those folks do and they took action once they knew of the bomb, but it was actually a guy that worked at a sidewalk vendor that alerted the authorities.
 
no kidding, the only reason NYC was safe is because the moron who built the bomb had no clue what he was doing and the thing failed. So much for our "no fly list."
 
Yea so true about the no fly list, I couldn't believe it when I heard that. I feel like we either need to go all out with security, or just not worry about things. There are so many loopholes and inefficiencies with in the parameters of national security, I think a lot of it is just to provide the illusion of security so that people feel safe. Either step your game up, or just don't be so uptight about stuff.
 
Just to add to that, I think having security in airports and whatnot and taking common sense precautions is a good thing, it just really makes you wonder how good our security is when something like this happens (both the bomb almost going off and him hoping onto a plane no problem).

I'm from around the Boston area, and a the dad of a girl from my highschool was supposed to be going on a business trip on one of the planes that crashed into the trade centers, but his meeting got canceled the day before. Scary shit.
 
i have no idea what you are referring too, but im sure if americans got attacked everyone would know about it in less than 1 hour.
 
This is actually part of the 4th amendment, but you successfully proved you do not understand your own rights to search and seizure. This has nothing to do with the Patriot Act.

Wouldn't call that a rant but that is pretty close. Shit would have been so hectic in that theater for you if that bomb had gone off
 
In this context, the Constitution would not. Nor would I if they were trying to secure an area with an active bomb threat.
