Really Durable Skis

I just want to know what a really durable pair of skis is. Something that can handle a lot of rails, shitty backyard landings, urbans, and a lot of other bad stuff without the edges coming off or tops peeling or anything like that.

Igneous, Capital, Kingswood....

none of which are really jibbing skis.

Head and K2 make pretty durable skis relative to everyone else.

But if your spending a lot of time doing rails and urban stuff you really cant expect you skis to last that long.

Yeah, Look at the invaders edges and then look at any other ski. It's like twice as thick. Line's are pretty durable, and unlike the madtrix -light.

why friends invaders edges are comming out after two weeks of riding and my other friends invaders tip are splitting and hes only ridden them 2 days

definatly...the MT's are heavy as hell compared to lines and the chronics hold up super well as well

The Atomic Triplet has some good stuff going on for edge reinforcement. There is a second edge beside the main edge under the bindings which supports it. I cpouldn't get past the "you get three skis" gimick before, but they seem like a solid ski and reviews from traditional ski mags say they ski the mountain well. Hopefully I can get to demo some this year.

my 4FRNTs have held up really well, but some people have killed the shit out of them, I have never ever ever heard or seen a destroyed pair of mad trix

My Volkl Explosives are by far the most durable ski I've ever ridden. I've hit shit that wouldve broken my Lines, Salomons, Rossis, and my buddy's K2s into little pieces. I haven't ridden Head skis, so I dont have any knowledge on that. But I have ridden, and badly damaged all said skis, and my Volkls have held up like nothing i've ever seen, and I've hit some pretty burly rocks coming off drops or high speed speed checks hitting jagged rocks that wouldve knocked the edge out of most skis.

madtrixs, there are many hooror stories of them falling off car racsk doing 55mph and other than some nicks they were perfect!! they truly are bombproff.

wow these line skis you talk of must be real light then cause i had madtrix last year and i thot they were really light.

My edges are good but i only did one day on the ar5s with rails. But the ski is holding up well everywhere else. Only one problem with it and thats the top sheet isnt very durable.

just reinforce you ski with kevlar around the core.

this would be a sick ass urban ski idea. im gonna get a patent.

all skis now-days are pretty good, but you have to tank to break the chronics... the oppostie of a durable ski is the 04 05 touble makers my bro had a pair and broke those, got them warrentied and broke those in 3/4 of a season!! 2 pairs in 3/4 of a season is crazy.... but yeah line chronics are bombproof

madtrix such a solid ski, this is the old ones im talking about the black and white with the white base saying 'head'.. yup

head, volkl, atomic, line chronics, are indestructable. heads and atomics especially. most of the companies with race backgrounds have more durable skis, just for the fact that construction is more consistant, and race skis take a hell of a beating too. but yeah, for what your talking about, your prolly better off just using whatever yuou have, and ridding them till they wont move. when they get that bad, take a belt sander to um with a fine belt, and smooth um down. its no stone grind, but on real chewed up stuff, it helps. you just gotta buff um out with a scotchbrite pad.

oh yeah, my bud has the new ar5s, and after less than 2 weeks of skiing, the edges are already pretty cracked up.

Dudes, all I'se knows is, I own a pair of Mad Trix, and they are literally the most retardedly indestructible ski I've ever owned. I can't imagine another ski being even near par to 'em.
