its what the shops do to fix core shots like that. normal p-tex wont work on a scratch that size - it may go in fine but probly wont stick and might get pulled out again.

thats a pretty gnarly shot. ill post a picture of my shot on my armadas when i get photos of it. its claimed 4 inches of edge plus some base and its been base welded twice, getting worse too, its sad

i work in a shop and have to fix bitches like that all the time. you most definetely need to base weld that with a gun. if you just used p texed that it wuldnt hold to the fiberglass or woodcore and would eventually just come out. if you want your skis to live i would not hesitate and fork out the cash for them to professionally fix that

armadas have mad thin bases. My friend cored his arv's on a day in the bc on some thin cover and I'm just trying to keep my babies from getting gouged. The base is seriously only like a few mm thick.

I got a similar core shot on my ARV's the second day I was on them. It's purely cosmetic though so no big deal once they are properly repaired.

Take it in and have them use JB WELD through and EXTRUDER GUN and it will hold forever, ptex and epoxy is not gonna cover that, it's too long. JB weld doesn't hold wax but is much better than ptex for that type of shot in my opinion, especially the one up against the edge.

this is a pic of my shot after i filled it with wax to protect it for the short term, i just got it fixed with the edge binding ptex (black) so have fun stealing these both sticks have black ptex on white bases. i just hope that it holds as well as they say i really don't want to deal with base welding at a later date.
