Reality market, stock market game

hey guys my brother just made up a stock market website but with things that are going on in the world. starting next month there will be a contest on who can make the most in "x" amount of days ( around 2 months i think as of now and everyone will start back at "0") anyways whoever wins will get a Nano, or something even bigger depending on how many people sign up. check it out its pretty sweet and you start off with $2,000,000 to invest wont hurt just to check it out.

i dont know anything about investing, but im in economics clas this semester.

i think we play some other stock market game and try to beat the teacher though
 
my brother, hes not in it tho. and once the game starts everyone will be back to 2,000,000 so basicly 0
 
i did one of these kinda things last year in business... tell your brother to make sure people cant just put all thier money in penny stocks cuz they alwyas end up winning and it takes no skill
 
ya he knows that and hes making rules like you need to actually trade shit you cant just buy stuff and sit on it, etc. there will be some rules involved
 
yeah its a better setup, but thats because marketwatch does all the data for newspapers and stuff. marketwatch tracks the real world stock market, while the game mentioned here is based of of mostly events. ex of a stock in the game(which is doing very well for me right now) is "bush approval rating drops into the 20s", not like apple computer or ford motor company or something
 
actually your in fourth, ski monkey(my brother), tt3fast and one other one are just test accounts, and will not count in the end.
 
my dad is a stock broker, and I took a buisnes classs last year. we played a game in it, and I just took all of his advice and bought some really good stocks, like medical ones and shit, while these other fools were buying like abercombie stock and stuff. I made a shitload of money in the game, and then sold all my stocks. I just then sat on my money for the rest of the game.
 
cool but does your dad know about whats going on in the world like foreign issues or sports? because thats wut this shit is about current events or reality. there arnt real stocks in there.
 
this reality market game needs more short term stocks.

and just basically more stocks in general

because all of the options you have right now are like

who wins superbowl/world series

who wins primaries

do they find jimmy hoffa.

and no apple isn't making an iPhone so why invest
 
dude it just started give input on other stocks youd like to see. he just made it, give it some time.
 
iPhone is totally happenin'! If I were everyone, I would buy it because it's going to going to be announced next week

This is an awesome idea, with lots of investors it would become pretty fun.

ps, what happenes if the events do happen? You just get paid out? and if it doesn't happen you lose your investment? that would make the day before closing crazy!

i had no idea how long he had been working on this or whatever, yeah it could be pretty fun if there were a whole bunch of day to day things.
 
yesssssss.... on staurday, i invested 2 million into yankees winnign world series. the value shot up 269% and now i'm worth 2.6 million......yesss....
 
I sold 5000 shares of something I held 10000 shares of.... but when the order went through, I lost all 10,000
