Reality market, stock market game

the sanfransico giants have made me 27,000 in 5 mins, every one knows they are going to win the nl wildcard, with barry back and all.

i did that in WA state's stock market game and got 1st with two other guys on my team. all we got were coupons for little ceasers.
 
well here is the thing Ryan Howard has pretty nuch singlhandedly kept the phillies in the wild card race. it would be different if he was on say the pirates and they went even close, plus his numbers are just sick yeah pujols is having a great year and things may be different if he didnt miss a ton of games early in the yaer to that ab injury but right now i beleive Howard is the lone standout. but you are right the AL is a whole different story, jeter, pretty much the entire twins pitching staff, cant forget about ortiz he does have numbers, that could come down to the wire.
 
yeah i pretty much dumped everything and bought howard today, i have like 75000 shares of him and didnt pay over 32 remars for any of it. but i still dont understand how people that just started are going to crazy amounts, bad fish went from like 3mill to 21 mil in the matter of like 2 days i just dont get it. i mean i double today, but if i were tel sell to move to another positin i would substantially heart the stock price, am i just not getting something, how can i effiecntly but quckly move out with out affecting the price, so i can be liquid for the next score. or should i just keep howard cause he is going to win the mvp anyway.

i jsut bought 90000 shares of justin morneau winning Al mvp, i hope it happens.

I jsut checked the top accoutns and i see these peope with 20 million and im like WTF? i remmebr the good ol' days when i was the most valuable with 10 million
 
it may be expensive, but i have 4 million in cash because i sold 45000 yankee shares, i just bought 270000 in shares with my money.

 
I am doing quite well right now. made up for that damn steelers stuff. I ahve my hands in all of the honey pots, ryan, jeter, ortiz etc etc. we will see how it goes.

Bad fish went up quick cause of a glich he found i mean the game is still only beta but it is hella awesome. it gives us a goal now to try and beat him without the glich. see who the best investor is.
 
which is funny, becase most of the money I had made was not because of the glitch. somebody else is buying their max on IPO's and low priced stocks too. It's kinda fishy seeing 10 stocks with the volume at 200000 first thing in the morning, don't you think??
 
Hey guys, figured i would answer some of the questions here...

There was only one or two trades that badfish made that were affected by the glitch. The glitch itself was related to the algorithm that changes the prices based on demand and supply(it was set too aggressive), not a math error or anything like that. There are also some other people that benefited from the glitch as well.

As for seeing 200k shares traded first thing in the morning, what is happening is the automated market maker is buying shares in stocks that have seen some active trading in the last couple of days but still haven't sold all their ipo shares. The orders are placed in the middle of the night so they get executed first thing in the morning when the market opens at 4am mountain time. What this does is provide for better liquidity in the market which allows the price to swing better.

Also, i should have fixed the 404 error on signup.php, it should now be a link to open.php.

another qeustion? say that ryan howard does win the mvp and the shares are cashed out will there be any premium added to it as a bonus for it happening. kind of like when a company on the real NYSE get s bought out it is nomally at a level greater then it is currently trading at.

and if it doesnt happen are the shares wiped off worthless kind of like a bankrupcy?
 
i just dont get it i was buying howard at open just like i said i have 75000 shares not paying more than 30 for any of. i am up 50% for the day and your up 220% how is that possable
 
i have a problem with my account. I have about 2.5 million $, but whenever i try to buy shares, it says i have negative dollars and i cant buy. (my username is rssmn25)
 
but that still doesnt ad up thats is only 110% return you were up like 220% given all the market movement the most you could ve don would had been about 120% there is something else going on plus if you had 75000 of howard and sold it, the price of howard would have fell off.
