Realistic Zombie Survival Game

Gahh I really want this game but I doubt my computer can handle it with out serious upgrades, I have to run minecraft on the lowest settings and even then it lags. Any advice to what I should upgrade? I'm defently clearing a lot of junk out too
 
Alright so I just reinstalled everything, and I noticed something. So I know there is supposed to be an @DayZ folder in the steam apps folder where all the DayZ files go. However, when I install DayZ through Six Launcher, it automatically sets up the folder like this:

program files(x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>arma 2 OA>@DayZ>addons>@DayZ>addons and then the files are in that last folder.

Is everyone else getting that? Or could that be why its not working for me? I don't understand why it like doubles the folders like that, it seems to me like it should just go @DayZ>addons once but I don't know... I'll try it like this anyways.
 
Ahahaha man, after all this, I finally get it to work, but the game is slow and laggy as fuck for me, even with everything set to the lowest possible setting. Well, I guess that's that...
 
Naw its a laptop so I don't think i can really do any upgrades, and to be honest i dont think I would go and spend money on upgrades and shit just so i could play this game anyways. But ya its an HP, i think maybe G60 or something??
 
Well I have an HP Pavilon g6 and i can run the game just fine on low settings. Did you make sure you went to advanced settings and turned everything down to very low? Changed resolution to 800x600 and matched that with 3d resolution? Did you turn off shadows? How is your internet connection? Did the servers you were playing in have a high ping?

There are many reasons why you would get lag and usually there are ways around it. Unless your pc is a complete piece of shit you should be able to run the game, you just need to fiddle with it a bit. Dont give up, it took me two full days before I even played once. But now it works fine.
 
Ya come to think of it it was probably an internet/server issue more than anything because ya I did have everything set to low and shadows off and everything, and I was able to play single player Arma for a little bit, so I don't think it's the game itself. I'll keep trying I guess.
 
Yeah most of the time lag is caused by the server or other players bad internet connections. As long as you have a decent connection and are on a relatively low ping server you should be fine.
 
I need to learn the controls too, when I tried to play last night I got bit and couldn't figure out how to bandage myself ahaha
 
I know nothing about computers and running games like this so im going to ask you guys a favor. What would i need to do to not only download this game on a Macbook Pro but also run it. I really need it.

I respawned outside Elektro pissed off about getting sniped while having tons of good gear on me. I then looked towards the coast and a helicopter is just sitting there in broad daylight on the outskirts of a major city. I went over assuming it was broken or out of gas and got in it. Everything was in perfect condition, the tank was even full. I'm so fucking happy right now, I don't even care I got killed earlier, this is so much better.

Ok so pretty much I got bored and flew to Vybor, noticed guys getting swarmed. I picked them up and flew them to some dam they wanted to go to. Landed and the heli glitched out and crashed kinda after I landed. We all got out safely and then they shot the fuck out of me.

I survived that last attack but have a broken leg and no morphine. If anyone wants to start heading to stary to help out over the course of the next day it would be greatly appreciated. Dont feel like losing my ak, m14, and revolver just yet.
 
So my friend that has the game came over to my house so i could try it. After dieing twice i decided to go to chernogorsk, after rounding a corner ran into 30 players in suits all aiming at a wall. I assumed it was a gang of bandits executing a dude. we picked up ones gun shot a handful of the suit dudes. and sole their ammo and ran. weird part was no one reacted to the shooting, Im guessing this was a hack to script guns in.
 
I want to play tonight but the only way that'll work is if someone brings me morphine. PLEASE NS CREW STEP UP AND HELP A BROTHA OUT!!!

Plus I want to ride in the bus.
 
I'm right by Starry. Our camp got raided so I'm all out of morphine. I do have blood bags though. Dundie's and the rest are heading up with morphine if you want to wait like 20 minutes. We're on teamspeak.

I found some in the airstrip, im just try to find a good gun in there so im changing server every 5 mins so right when I'll find something decent I'm gonna come to you
 
Make sure you have teamspeak downloaded, and your username set up. And then try searching for this a couple of times. Sometimes it doesnt work the first time.
