Realistic Goals For This Season

Yo, I picked up a pair of twin tips and this will be my first year skiing in the park, I'm trying to set realistic goals for tricks to learn this year. I'm a decent skier and I like to ski fast. Here's my list so far.

- 1s & 3s both directions, from forward or switch. I want to get super comfy spinning off anything.

- Nose Butters & Tail Butters. I'd love to get to where I can butter into a spin.

- 50/50 on boxes & rails, from both forward & switch

- FS 270

- BS 270

- I think Daffies look so sick but probably pretty tough to learn?

- Backflip, but where you lay it out real steezy and rotate slow because those look awesome

- Like 4 or 5 different grabs?

I'll be skiing pretty much everyday and once I set my mind on something I work pretty hard at it. Are those unreasonable goals? Should I go for more? If so, what else? Are there any tricks you thought were super fun to work on when you first started learning? Any and all helpful tips are greatly appreciated! :)

Those seems reasonable. I used to watch people when i was on the chair and try and replicate their tricks. Just send it

hell yeah dude. switch 5050s are hard as fuck, it took me 2 years skiing park to even try to get on a rail switch but im a slow learner. if you can already ski fakie pretty well it should be doable no prob. also every single grab is the same, the only ones that are hard are seatbelt things. you only ever need to do safety and blunt anyway

pretty solid list of goals. for your first year of park im not sure if your goal of hitting rails switch is very realistic. But then again, if youre skiing pretty much every day, who knows what tricks you'll learn. If you can find a group of friends to ski with who are also into park skiing/getting into park skiing, that will help you progress a lot, rather than if you were trying stuff on your own. But at the end of the day its all about getting stoked and having fun, so dont sweat it if you dont end up getting all the tricks you were hoping to get

Relative to how long it took me to get these trickd, those are high but not unachievable goals. Send it and see where it gets you. I don't always think that saying that I want to get x, y, and z done this year is a great mentality because conditions, motivation, mindset, and injuries are all subject to change. Have fun and send it!

Also, if you're just talking about straight air daffies (i.e. Without spinning), they're quite easy and you should have them down as soon as you're comfortable in the air.

just commit and your good. Im personally not the best at park, i can only hit rails, front 270 out, and 180's. 360's here and there. this year i wanna be able to throw 3's on most size jumps, small or big and throw some nice japans and tails with them. i wanna do a switch on, back 270 out, and switch 5050 on tubes. i think these are achievable for me (for most people it definitely is) but i don't commit enough i get scared :/

The only goal you need, is to have fun. /thread

I feel you. But setting a benchmark and then working toward it is fun for me, and I feel really good when I achieve a goal I've set. You know?

If you're skiing every day I don't think that's super unrealistic. My goal is to learn a new trick every day, whether it be sendy or not.

to myself:

stop being such a fucking pussy, pound that fuckin beer, and chuck that damned backie into pow you've been eyeballing.

im starting some park this year and ive pretty muvh masterd modt of the runs at my hill but i can only ski for wknds so i wont be able to reach anywhere near your goals
