mad props if u can figure this out:

aight so i have 2 rails with composite decking, one type has decking with a fairly rough grain to it and long lines running the length of it, the other is perectly smooth with no grains and no surface lines

PROLBEM: -the box WITH a grain and lines slides well and need only a little water now and then

- the SMOOTH surface does not slide well at all and needs to be watered constantly

I thought i would have the opposite problem, what is going on? why? how can i fix it? thanks and props if u figure this one out

the more grain the less surface area on the decking

so there isnt alot of stuff holding you back

like 1 rail is going to slide better then 6 rails put together on a box

so should i take some sandpaper to the smooth decking?

yeah get some super rough sandpaper and just rub it down.....i would go all directions too... not just up and down

also im pretty sure that one side of composite decking always has lines that run down it and the other side is always smooth, so if possable, you could flip over the composite decking so that the sode woth the lines is on top. or if you've had the rail for a long time, then you might have shaved the lines down.

thats what i was just going to say i just learned that today because im gettin a deck made out of it so im hopin for extra for some rail building

no. you need to sand down the grainy piece with the lines in it, so it will become smooth like the other piece. then the 2 pieces will be the same slipperiness. or you could buy another piece of the grainy liney stuff
