Real ski 2021

Ahall and hackel both had some bangers, i hope hackel wins though. His part felt a little more original and he kept it purely to the street, no park or backcountry. Even though park and backcountry shots are allowed this year, it just feels more og without them imo.

Yeah I can agree. Her and Thall were my sentimental favs but it’s really a Hackel vs Hall for first and ferdi vs lupe for third

no offense, taylors was not in the same league as everyone elses

Anyone else in awe of that first shot in Hackels? Whered the car go??

edit: posted this before I saw the last shot, that was fucked too

taylor didnt even hit a kinked rail, it was like 80 percent downrail shots.

Hackels part was pleasing to the eye and I loved that it was solely urban. A Hall or Hackel for 1st and Ferdi and Lupe for 3rd

Ahall

Hackel

Ferdi

Park jumps should definitely not be allowed in this and not a fan of the BC shots either being allowed. IMO urban keeps it a level playing field.

Toss up between Alex, Alex, and Lupe for me. If we are ranking them as a total package and not just the skiing, it would have to be Hackel, the filming was insane.

100%. Real ski back country only would be sick

Taylors video had my favorite vibe and editing. Lupe's style is so good in his. Hackel had some really sick tricks. Ferdi's 2 pretz 2 compilation was very cool. Tanner's music choice was... interesting

If Ahall doesn't win this contest is rigged.

Good take

Pretty sure it's similar to when they pass off gimbals to capture a "through the window shot" (someone on the side of the car on skis and grabs that cam when it zooms in on hackel, keeps holding on to get some space and rips down the steps?) Looks like some slight vibration from post stabilization from the steps so wouldn't be a drone but idk. Either way impressive shot

I think Hackel took it. good mix of technical rails with drops and other features. I hate to be that guy but it seems like last year was much more lit than this year.

On a side note, whats up with everyone padding their edit with booters and park jumps? I thought this was supposed to be an urban contest. I get Tannner due to his injury but why the others?

That shot was some fuckin wizardry.

1st- Taylor: liked her spot selection a lot

2nd- Tanner: dudes old af, still baller part

participation medals- the rest of them: lotta played out spots and they weren’t memorable edits to me at all.

Felt like AHall had the toughest tricks of em all, every clip felt heavy. Ferdi's was solid til the random park jump clip, that ruined it for me. Hackle's final shot was mental and all around filming was best by far. All that being said, SKI BOSS WINNING IT ALL!

Apparently having 'Alex' or 'Hall' in your name grants you special ski powers the rest of us can't access.

1st definitely going to AHall or Hackel. I think Hackel should get some praise for only using street shots, but AHall is like the best of tech/style, like what you'd get if you crossed Jesper with Henrik.

Ahall def secured first this year, hackel will def take second and then ferdi will take third. Seemed like an off year. I didn’t give super hard to any of them and their music selection was kinda off as well. Taylor’s live was on point and even tho the tricks weren’t super intense it was still super fun to watch

Ya man Taylor’s stall to switch on a 2ft high quarter was craaaazy.

Seriously tho I feel like I’ve seen her ski way better then what was in her edit. Really like her as a skier but her clips were a little disappointing.

yeah I was thinking it was an FPV drone

Gonna clarify on why I think Ahall should win. His tricks were simply the gnarliest. There wasn't much competition for him in that regard. I think if the contest was based entirely on filming Hackel would take it easily with those peyben wizard shots. I think that Hackel's filming and Ahall's ridiculous tricks put them on an even playing field, but I enjoyed Ahall's part more so I think he should win :)

That double transfer was INSANE

Yeah I thought maybe it was a cut, there is a lil bump/framing kinda changes for a second, could be stitching the two shots together right there, but the rest of it is peyben lead following, so it certainly could've been a hand off but its impossible to know, maybe [tag=85717]@Peyben[/tag] can let us know his secrets :)

AHall all the way. Insane mix of technicality, creativity, and super consequential features. Hackel for second, then there is such a large gap before the rest of the field I'm not sure it matters who gets third.

In all seriousness AHall, Lupe, Hackle should be top 3. I'm leaning AHall wins, Hackleclose 2nd, Lupe 3rd but it's tight. Hoping Tanner probably takes fan favorite, sick seeing him in X again.

Watched ahall's like 4 times now, every single clip is utterly amazing. deserves the W. and hackel second especially with Pär's insane filming

I thought AHall’s was in a class of its own personally. Hackel’s was sick, exactly the level I’ve come to expect from him, but AHall’s was truly mind blowing to me, even without the insane BC booter shots.

Didn’t there used to be both Real Street and Real Ski/Snow? Like 2 distinctly different categories for Pow/Big Mountain footy and then one for Urban?

I’d love to see a return to that. PWhite, Dunk, etc. out there givin’er

Ahall and Hackel's were nuts, every shot was a banger but I liked Ahall's a bit more, his BC shots were surprisingly dope. I really liked Ferdi's as well, but he really should have done that dub bio on a BC jump. Thall's urban shots didn't quite stack up but I loved the BC shots, especially that dub backflip redirect.

NGL, kind of underwhelmed by real ski this year somehow. Maybe last year just gave me such high expectations, and sure there was some crazy shit that got put down, but Ferdi, you put a damn park jump in your edit. I mean, backcountry is one thing, but a straight park jump in a real ski, nahhh...favorite edit was Lupe I'd say, great feel on that. Also loved cinematography on Hackels

Pretty sure it is a drone despite that vibration on the steps, the runout after is distinctly track free and the snow spray looks more like what you get from propwash than skis.

Downvote me but last years real ski was 10 times better. Hopefully next year it will return to straight street spots and maybe a whole new field for the women.

Taylor had a good part but it kinda stole a spot from another guy who coulda thrown down, so I think having a girls field would be good. No disrespect to Taylor at all I think she is a dope skier it’s just a whole different level.

Andy partridge and cal Carson for real ski next year maybe?

That would be really cool if its a drone, hopefully peyben chimes in.

Year of technicality.

Lacked a bit in amplitude but that was probably due to less resources for big builds during covid.

A hall took it for me but Hackel's definitly had the best mix of filmaking and skiing.

Great show all around!

I agree. The booters and park shot just looked like filler and took away from what the contest is supposed to be about.

Also second on the Womens contest, they need to split them up. It would showcase more girl skiers and give a guy who deserves to be in then Mens slot a shot. Taylor had some sick skiing but she really didnt have a chance against AHall and Hackel. It puts her in a weird position too where she definitely got last but may get preferred treatment for being a girl.

great job to all involved once again, got so stoked watching the edits

the podium in my mind after watching it first time was Hacke, AHall and Lupe. i'd say in that order alo. might change after some more viewing.

But goddamn on a personal level, wow the Hackel and Peyben combo is SO DOPE. the skiing, cinematography, editing, the whole vibe is just too dope.
