Real-life example of obama's policies

Ok, so we just went from your dad's income to being cut in half to a approx. a 30% decrease, which is a pretty significant difference. I still don't believe that your dad's income will be taxed as such though, if he really only employs three people. As far as where the money is coming from for college, our government will have over a trillion dollar deficit for this year alone, and our total is now what, 13 trillion? A couple billion in college scholarships is a pretty reasonable amount to invest in the future of our country and education system.

Is that actually supposed to convince me Obama wants to destroy america. All she does is name democrats declare them to be liberal (duh) call them leftists (wow, she knows about the political spectrum) and then says that that makes them anti-american. That is the most thoughtless, ignorant argument ever. She wants an investigation into whether they are pro-american or not, what the fuck? That sounds like something from an extreme dictatorship. Huh, it almost reminds me of Stalin. How do you define pro-american?

If people didn't take this shit so seriously it would be laughable, considering that the GOP administration currently in power has overseen some of the most egregious assaults on the Constitution in our country's history. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd probably put the Constitution on the side of Pro-American.

o its a terribly dangerous idea if acted upon. but the only course of action i am going to take or will ever take is voting for or against an individual, party affiliation is a non issue.

i am merely defining what is seen as "anti american" or "un american" in my eyes. and spreading the wealth around" there is a whole list of "un american" idea's that Obama has as they pertain to me.

notice how i said it depends on how you define american ideas's? that gives you the right to call my idea's un american if you wish. because you and I have different versions on what is american, yet at the same time we are both americans who are proud of our country(atleast i am)

if you see universal healthcare as "american" then you can call private medicen "un american"

i am not even going to get into how Mathews stiff armed her into that.

he asked a yes or no question where one does not pertain. he baited her. IMO.

calling something "un-american" is whats unamerican. the beauty of our country is the freedom of speach, freedom to do whatever you want (within reason) by calling someone unamerican your limiting their freedom.

whoa guys (drew and ben)

i never said anyone person was un american. i would NEVER. do that. (if it slipped, or was mis worded i am sorry) i was pointing out that there can be un american idea's. limiting freedom a good one? limiting my free speech is a pretty "un american idea" right?

its IDEA'S not people.

but what makes an idea unamerican? isnt the beauty of our society the fact that you can throw ideas out there, and if the people like it, they vote for it. so no idea is unamerican, just perhaps not falling into your ideals. i suppose a failed idea could be considered unamerican, because america didnt like it, but other than that, theres really no such thing.

drew, answer me this. is limiting freedom of speech un american? yes or no.

there are un american idea's IMO its how you define them.... but if i were Bachman i would have never fucked up that reply and answered the way she did.

would you call complete income equality "un american" or anti american"?

or how about the government telling you what you can own?

or what about communism?

or even(gasp) the patriot act. look deep inside i bet you have called that "un american" before. (be honest)

i believe what i have said is that its unconstitutional, idiotic, and violates peoples rights. Communism... i believe i have said it doesnt work.

I dont think i have ever called for complete income equality

o i know you never have ben. i am showing drew that there ARE IMO anti or un american idea's. it comes down to how you want to define them.

i will give drew that it is a VERY harsh term that leaves to much room for mis interpretation. and i would NOT have used them like Bachman did.

by anti-american she is saying more progressive socialist views instead of the traditional, free market, personal choice views america has had in the past.

there is a very interesting article in the wall street journal about the two candidates tax plans, "The Election Choice: Taxes" its at the end of A in the opinion section. its says obama defines income more broadly than the taxable income line on the IRS form, so if you are an individual with taxable income of 164,550$ you will pay more taxes under his plan.it then details all the individual increase taxes (phaseout of exemptions, capital gains and dividend tazes etc.
then it touches n obamas life on the income on which social security tax is applied. that means he would increase the amount that those making over 250,000 pay each year (he says by either 2% or 4%. this article explains that social security used to be an insurance prgram which pays out based n how much you pay in, but nt with is a wealth transfer program.

and how is that anti american? is every different idea anti american? shit i guess banning slavery was anti american. so was giving women the right to vote

dude i never said these unamerican things. i was explaining what i thought palin meant.
as for slaves and woman? no because those two ideas are inline with the traditional equal, free views our country was founded in.

the part about the wsj was just to show an interesting article about the tax plans of candidates, i wasnt trying to say it was unamerican

but they clearly werent thought of when our country was founded. so whats to say obamas slightly socialist (not near full on socialism) ideas are wrong?

if you cant make any connection between equality and full suffrage in the lines of the constitution "all men created equal, blahblahblah" and no slavery and female suffrage then i really can not help you. sure they may have been violated during the time when the constitution was made but the fundamental beliefs in equality and freedom are there. socialism is contradictory to the principles behind the constitution, which is why palin was saying un-American.

does that mean they are wrong because they contradict with american beliefs? no. i never said that. but because i believe in these american ideals of freedom and such, i do not advocate or like socialism

Fuck being American or un-American. I'm sick of conservative people saying I'm not-patriotic or un-American because I don't support the war or other issues/officials. Maybe I want to be un-American because of all the stupid ass people in America. I think Drew pretty much summed it all up so I don't have anything more to say.

THANK YOU!!! honestely all these stupid fuckin right wing bigots all they do is throw out these words trying to scare people saying OHH your not patriotic if you dont support this or "AMERICAN" Honestly do you ever hear liberals saying those kinds of things? NO! cause they dont need to use FEAR as a means to get people to agree with them. Only ignorant people actually buy into these things. And by the way I am not a complete liberal, im actually more moderate, but the other thing about conservatives (not trying to generalize but the ones in the media in particular) that annoys the shit out of me is they never answer questions directly at least the recent ones, they just keep throwin out these words and dont even define american and then when an act like the "Patriot Act" comes along there like "O yeah your not a patriot if you dont agree with this" even though it takes away your constitutional rights. I'm pretty sure the constitution is the most american document and defines America.

Obviously this wont make any impact on anyone except for people that agree with me but hey I tried. If only people would explain their reasonings and stop being hypocrits would I actually take someone seriously from the other side.

Well she means being "un-American" in a way of us turning into a socialist country aka "big government".

Grrrr. I can never put what I want to say on paper. Plah! I hope that sentence made sense.

WHAT?!?! What are you talking about? The liberals let THAT happen. The conservatives new what was going on and didn't call them out because they are a bunch of wimps.

BIG GOVERNMENT isn't what America standed for.

It's pretty obvious whenever one of these threads gets this long that

no one has the slightest clue what they're talking about. Most of you

don't understand socialism, and use it as a buzzword equated with "big

government" or tax rates. None of you, moreover, less than half

a percent of the American public, understand the tax system, but are

willing to bitch and moan about it all the same. I would be willing to

bet that more than one of the frequent posters in this thread would

have to check wikipedia or a dictionary to be able to tell us what a

"capital gain" is, and certainly wouldn't know how they're taxed, but you still whine about it. Tax

codes and regulations are written so that a minimum of people (namely,

tax lawyers and some experienced accountants) can obtain a solid grasp

of how they work. So all this arguing about tax policies is utterly

stupid. As is characterizing one's tax policy as "good for the middle

class", or "we're going to give tax breaks to companies creating jobs

here at home", or "this guy's tax plan will hurt small businesses".

Even the CANDIDATES don't understand how the system works. And if you

don't understand what you're talking about, it's probably best to

just... not.

"cease and desist people of NS! DO NOT DOUBT ME!!"

dude i realize your trying to keep stumping me or catch me off gaurd or something along those lines, but your just being nitpicky and annoying
the basic ideas and principles in the constitution; e.g. individualism, freedom, choice etc. different than those that socialism represents.

The liberals let those banks give "poor" people mortgages that they couldn't pay off. Who in their right mind would get an interest only loan? Scam artists.

haha ok dude because i didnt just elaborate to whatever you deem a necessary volume of explanation on a newschoolers political thread means i should go kill myself?

Since you know so much, Drew, then tell it like it is. All you are doing right now is calling me and whatever his name is (Justin has told me a million times what his name is.) stupid, but you aren't giving us your rebuttle to make you more credible than us.

The "liberals" may have started it, but bush actually CHECKED an attempt to prevent them later on.

as for scam artists, its the banks, not the people.

but clearly you have no clue. and will continue to throw around liberal like its a bad word.

except its not socialism. and how does the minute bit of socialism he proposes affect your individualism, freedom, or choice... not really at all

May I point out that the only reason why I'm stupid is because I keep posting.

I never said to anyone in this thread that they were "un-American". I think you have stereotyped me as a cloned Palin...I'm not.

What's the matter with originality (not as completely old-fashioned might I add)? We've been using it for lets see...

2008 - 1776 = 232 years. Take a couple away for the Constitution and whatnot.

Drew, I just don't understand what you necessarily love about Obama and socialism. Personally, I'd rather take care of myself than having the government make discissions for me with my own money. I really don't want us to end up like Germany.

....... first of all im pretty sure drew isnt the biggest fan of obama either, he agrees were pretty much fucked either way.

second what do you mean "end up like germany". are you honestly comparing an obama presidency to hitler? because if so, you should leave. now.
